I don't know.  I think the idea of owning "physical media" is a lot more transitory than you might realize.  I have a box of cassette tapes I can't really listen to.  We just threw out a box of VHS movies that we had no means of watching (and long ago we'd culled that collection so the ones remaining were movies we might actually enjoy watching again).

And as for games... putting aside a handful of games that I have on floppy disks, I'm pretty sure a lot of the games I have from 10+ years ago I would struggle to get working on my Windows 10 system.

On the other hand, I still have CDs from the 80s and DVDs from the 90s that play fine.

Agreed.  But I also have iTunes songs on my phone purchased 10+ years ago that still work just fine.  Apple has hundreds of billions in the bank and seems unlikely to go away.  And while Steam isn't in that same category, it too is enormously successful and its library seems unlikely to go away either.
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

I have a giant CD collection, a even bigger mp3 collection. They don't get any use anymore, I just use my Google Play music sub.

So you see the perverse dynamics that drag the Catalan crisis towards a cliff:

There's two major separatist parties, a conservative one (PDECat) and a left-wing one (ERC). They rule in coalition, have roughly the same number of MPs, and they hate each others' guts.

Today, PDECat surprisingly announced that they would support a motion from the ruling Spanish Socialist Party for a "dialogue between the governments of Spain and Catalonia that respects the current legal framework". There was a sigh of relief, since that was a massive backtrack from their "Independence or else...!" rhetoric. ERC, however, smelt blood, and instantly said that they would oppose the motion since this was a tacit renunciation to Catalan right of self-determination. Cue tons of angry tweets from lefty separatist talking heads, and PDECat backtracked. So we are back to inflamed rhetoric.

This is not the first time it happens. Every time one of the two parties tries to moderate a bit, the other plays the "traitor!!!" card, and back to radicalism it is. Most notoriously last year's UDI was issued after a similar episode.

A radio station I used to listen to back home (they played a lot of rock/grunge/metal when no one else did) now has a very mainstream live program, but offer different streams on their website: Indie, Grunge, Alternative, Hip Hop, Party, K-Pop, etc.

I check out "Top 100 Black Music." Currently playing: Justin Timberlake. :hmm:

Don't see the issue, unless you're demanding racial purity :P

Seriously though, in Cincy we have a big summer R&B music festival at Paul Brown Stadium that is almost entirely performed by and attended by African Americans.  Three or four years ago the headliner was Robin Thicke.

A few of us can, over time, get invited to the cook out.

Don't you hold your breath though.

For some reason Glassdoor keeps suggesting me jobs in wound care, even though my profile says that I'm a data scientist.  If that's what they think data scientists do, then no wonder their job suggestion algorithm works so well.

Eddie Teach

It's a good move. Computers are much better at data analysis than wound care.

I'm sure I'll be able to google what I need to know, but aren't there some legal restrictions on who can do the job?

Eddie Teach

Probably need a nursing degree.

Isn't black music what you German speaking folks call R&B?

Possibly, it's not a genre I listen to often.

WWE trying to dip into the esports demographic? I'd imagine there's a lot of overlap, anyways.

Just seems so weirdly random. :D
