And invading France as Germany is, of course, Tradition.

For which the French can thank Louis XIV who conducted a scorched earth policy in Germany in the 17th century, fostering Francophobia; and the expression of "hereditary enmity" between French and Germans stems from this time. :P
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Yet the tradition of invading France started because the Germans were so pissed the French revolted against Louis' great-great-great Grandson.

There is just no pleasing some people.

How do I edit out a non-agression pact in HOI2 DD?

EDIT: Never mind, figured this out.

Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.

Fucking Paradox AI. :ultra:

It does suck, doesn't it.

Is HoI2 DD a big improvement over HoI2? Been thinking of picking up DD if I can get it cheap ($20 on gamersgate :bleeding: ), but if the AI still sucks, then I might just hold out for HoI3.

And are the HoI2 DD/Arm mods a big improvement on the game?

Is it wrong to listen to Korean pop while playing as Japan in HoI2?
How about listening to the Fiddler on the Roof soundtrack while playing Germany?

You are one disgusting individual.  You sicken me.

K-Pop isn't that bad.

HoI2 DD is a much better game, the intelligence aspect is
pretty cool. Plus you have the WWIII scenario and all the
extra tech.

I was talking about the strategic  AI.

I'm reenacting the latest Turtledove scenario where war
breaks out over Czechoslovakia.

Now is it rational for Bulgaria and Greece to declare war on
the Soviet Union within days of this?

Oh, I don't think they do.  What actually happened?

There are all sorts of interlocking GoIs in the Balkans that don't expire until ~1940.  I just saw that it was 1938 and assumed that someone declared war on one of those countries.

Like I said, I'm trying to war game a scenerio (as the Germans) from a novel.

Germany attacks Czechoslovakia
The Allies come in on the side of the Czechs
Italy and Nationalist Spain (under Sanjurjo) come in on the side of Germany
Soviets declare war on Germany

and that should be it until the Germans storm through the low countries and the Soviets invade Poland.

I was quite annoyed to see Bulgaria and Greece declare war on the Soviets out of the blue. Now Hungary I would have rolled with, but Bulgaria and Greece? WTF.

And Germany is subsequently ground into a fine paste?
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.
