I spent a few hours of my Saturday melting pieces of metal.

I was not even asked to work on a weekend. I volunteered. I even had to convince my reticent boss to let me come in (since I will take a day off in exchange).

The best part is I thoroughly enjoyed it. No traffic, no mails, no calls, no deadlines, no meetings, no audits, no silly metrics flung around by management. Nobody bothering me about how this or that broke down and what am I going to do to fix it. Just a few million Euros in beam-shooting robots and myself. I'm probably going again tomorrow.

What a miserable day. I should put my head in a plastic bag and breathe deep.

You're missing CdM, aren't you? :hugs:

A little bit, yes.

On Thursday I had a big toothache that I first thought was my gums because I couldn't see anything wrong. Found a dentist with a free time slot, ended up being the last patient for the day, as X-ray showed I had the bloody hole on the side of a tooth hidden by another one. Got a filling.

Almost 4 days after, it still hurts. I think the dentist messed something up. Awesome.

New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of...

Check out the video in the link, particularly the jig at the end. :D

QuoteIdiot blocks subway by smoking underneath car

What a blowhard.

A cigarette-smoking maniac ducked under a B train as it pulled into Grand Street Station on Monday morning — and survived with his smoke still alight.

"Right before the train hit him, he ducked under the platform. Everyone turned away, thinking he was dead. It was terrible," said Shon Mogharabi, 31, who captured astounding footage of the incident on his cellphone.

"Then he waved his hand from between the train and the platform and we were all shocked."

Mogharabi says the deranged drunk had been walking around the tracks before the B train pulled in around 10 a.m. and straphangers tried to coax him off the rails.

When a light appeared in the tunnel, a woman flagged the train to slow down while Mogharabi tried to haul the guy up — but the loon just turned his back on the vehicle hurtling toward him.

The video shows the moment onlookers breathed a collective, if slightly smoke-filled, sigh of relief — as the butthead's cigarette-holding hand emerged from between the front car and the platform.

"I can't believe he didn't get hit, and I can't believe that I was the only one who tried to grab him," Mogharabi said. "He looked like he knew what he was doing, like he does this all the time."

The man then tried to wave the train on with his lone hand before brazenly stubbing out his smoke on the side of the carriage, the footage shows.

Commuters eventually convinced the guy to come out and climb back onto the platform to safety — but not before he hurled a bottle from the tracks at the train.

He then tried to casually stroll past firefighters who'd come to check on him — before passengers pointed out that he was the person they were looking for.

The footage shows the guy then dancing a jig for New York's Bravest before thrusting his groin against the train.

Cops then escorted the man off the platform and took him to Bellevue Hospital, police said. He hasn't been arrested.

What a fucking asshole. People who interrupt train services should be shot. No judge, no jury, straight to execution.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Well they did escort him to a mental hospital for evaluation.

Maybe you shouldn't fill refrigerators with explosives and then shoot them.  :hmm:

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

That reminds me I should finally get off my ass and go to the Knob Creek machine gun shoot. Battlefield Vegas was a blast, but the the combined firepower of rednecks with automatic weapons will give me a murder boner.

You angle the fridge so the door is facing a different way, not toward you.  Everyone knows that

Ouch...good thing he had the tree in front of him. So it looks like he was expecting a problem might happen.

I think he just placed his gun on a tree branch to steady his aim.

Also have to be aware of your backstop when shooting. Even a rock behind your target can cause a ricochet to come back at the shooter. I remember my father teaching me that when I was a young'un when target shooting.
