It was a cool show.  Each episode was about like some mystery or another and Nimoy narrated.  Example topics would be Bigfoot, Aliens, the Bermuda Triangle, the Pyramids of Egypt, etc.

Oh wow, an end of an era, or another one of the original cast goes down. It seems he had been pretty frail for a while, being seen in an airport in a wheel chair and on oxygen. All the more significant that he appeared in the last Star Trek film, and did the voice over for it also, "Going where no one has gone before".

The trifecta of my youth:  Star Trek: TOSMission: Impossible, and In Search Of
never seen the last one.

Paranormal documentary back in the 1970's.  I watched it as well.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Great now I have to watch some of those episodes.

He was 83. :(

Only 3 years older than my dad, 13 years than my mom.

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

Oh dear.  :(

He was like an brilliant, but eccentric uncle you wish existed in your family.

Not when you consider he married at age 21.

My parents are cool. My mom is right now in the middle of organising another antique car rally in Warsaw (she is the vice-president of the Poland Automobile Association). And just last weekend they called me saying they decided to drive to the seaside (500 kilometres from where they live) at 6 a.m. in the morning to take a stroll on the beach and get home by evening.

Nah. My mom is his 3rd wife, he is my mom's second husband. They married around 40 years ago.

My parents :D

They have two other cars like this (one a large limo and one another cabriolet). My dad restored all of them from a wreck.

This is the limo:

It's like you and 11B4V could have been seperated at birth.  :P

Oh and I agree with Cal your father is cool for doing those restorations, always nice to see good cars rescued. And your mother is good for having put up with it and thrown herself into it.  :)
