I don't think it's about target audience, but more about objective quality of the show.

When I mean target audience, I mean way, way outside the target audience. Like adults watching kids shows, men watching chick flicks, that kinda thing.

Back when I was at Uni. and for a time afterwards - "Sunset Beach".

I dislike Soap Operas (whatever the country of origin) both personally and as a general programming concept. But that particular train wreck I couldn't stop watching.

During my school days I watched (and enjoyed) Santa Barbara (at least its early years), because it was on when I came home (and Married with Children ran after it). Also, it had the young Robin Wright.
