"I hated Act of Valor. I wish the Afghans had killed all those SEAL team members before they had the chance to make the movie." Maybe take it down a notch, man.

Act of Valor is a really, really, guilty pleasure of mine  :Embarrass:

Ideologue

I've never actually seen it, I was just making a point that wishing acts of violence (even if of far lesser scope) upon people because they made (gasp!) a movie you personally didn't like is a shitty thing to do in the context of a real-life attack or accident.  E.g., it's one thing to say "Transformers 4 sucked! Burn down Paramount and Michael Bay's house!"  It's another to say, "Transformers 4 sucked!  I wish Michael Bay had been decapitated by that guidewire, too."

Economically the film is of course a failure and one sony could have done without.
But I wouldn't put it past Rogan and co to be happy with how things have worked out- except for shutting themselves at the thought of nork hit squads anyway- a generic throwaway movie that would otherwise be destined to be forgotten has really made the history books.
Total every cloud has a silver lining stuff of course considering how crappy the general situation is though

The smiley didn't really show up, I think you used a lower case "p" and the board didn't register it.  And you say ridiculous things earnestly all the time.

I don't care what the Supreme Court says, films aren't people.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Tbf, he only wished that the movie had disappeared without a trace. He said nothing about the people that made it.

Ideologue

You know what I love?  When people break into my house (or computer) and make all my stuff disappear without a trace.  Especially my personal artwork.  LOVE IT.

Cel: Anyway, I don't wanna really bag on Wags.  I know it's just hyperbole.  My only point is that you shouldn't wish specific (and realistic) harm on people just because they don't find the work pleasing.  I figured you'd be on board, since one day it'll be you that disgruntled audience members--few, I trust, but there's always a few--who will have harm wished upon him.

Yes, yes, I'm sure when you say that Buddhism is the native religion of Japan or the Japan is underpopulated, or some other nonsense you feel quite clever.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Spellus posted a article from Jacobin magazine where the author gloated that Seth Rogan had hired a bodyguard out of fear of his life for impertinence of daring to attack the Worker's Paradise of North Korea.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the DPRK falls under the category of "degenerated worker's states."

That's fair.  But still, why would a writer in a socialist magazine take so much pleasure in threats against the life someone who's film is unwelcome in North Korea?
