The uproar over the vag story isn't really doing anything except selling more copies of her book.  Kinda surprised everyone's falling so hard for the troll.

Yes, posting another dreadful Lena Dunham story on Languish is selling more copies of her book.

Um she was seven and she didn't touch anything....so....how is this news?  I mean weird as fuck but she is an actress.

QuoteKids do creepy things but do those children turn around as adults to write about those moments like fond memories? Especially when those moments involve someone else's private parts that you "spread apart." Is it normal to compare what you did to something a sexual predator would as a full grown person?

That's a bit of a weird argument to make. It's like saying that an adult who writes how he used to burn ants as a kid is an arsonist.

No, it isn't like that at all. It was Dunham who first compared her actions to that of a sexual predator.

You know she is some semi-lurker's hidden shame.

Maybe it's Phil. Or La Croix.  :hmm:

that scene was full of self-mockery.  :P the internet took it too seriously.

LOL LaCroix does watch that show.  Good call PW.

I did watch it but I think I'm through. General feeling was that it was fairly 'on' in 1st season but then has steadily decline as Dunham lets more of her weirdness shine through.

Oh it was and that's how I took at the time. However, the more that we hear out of Dunham, it's pretty clear that it wasn't too far off the mark, insofar as it describes one of her personality flaws.

i'm positive she honestly thought that about herself at some point in her life. the comment suggests she doesn't think as highly of herself. highly, oh yeah, but not to that ridiculous younger-twenties degree.

All I recall from that season was the OCD nonsense and the trite plot-line of imploding Marnie.

So apparently she is shocked that people are grossed out by her revelations from her own book.  What did she think the reaction would be?
