Gotta say I'm surprised how Belarus managed to stay out of this after it quickly became obvious it wasn't going to be a parade to Kyiv.

I'd have guessed Putin would put pressure on Lukashenko to open a second front? At least give an appearance of beligerence to force Ukraine to garrison that border.

There's a whole stretch of Ukrainian - Russian border where there isn't really a front line.
I know the Belarus - Ukraine border is pretty densely forested, swampy, radioactive too.
I don't think Russia would be too keen on expanding the front - it was Ukraine did this with their Kursk offensive.

Belarus getting involved in the war.... Would have been a dangerous game given the people's sympathies would lie with Ukraine and their existing issues with the pro democracy group.
Lukashenko has done a quite skilled job in keeping things quiet for Belarus. A situation that probably suits both Ukraine and Russia.

3-day special military operation going as planned, comrade. This is just flying shield of Moskva, totally not the roof of a Moscow refinery tank flying off.

A Russian refiniry  miles from the Kremlin exploded, a drone attack from Ukraine.  Yesterday night midnight, Eastern time, if I am right on the timing.

That's on top of Alien attack on the the fuel depot.

Black clouds over Moscow give me hope that this war eventually ends and on more favourable terms for Ukraine than what could be expected when it started.

And with the war in the South is going too.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Fuel shortages are supposedly getting worse across Russia. In Crimea, civilian fuel sales have been completely stopped by the occupation regime.

QuotePutin addresses 'challenging' Russian petrol shortages for first time

Vladimir Putin addressed Russia's worsening fuel crisis for the first time on Tuesday as Ukrainian forces showed no signs of relenting in their campaign of systematic strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.

In a report on the "difficult" fuel situation delivered during a video conference with the government on Tuesday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak described the shortages as "challenging but under control", and said that by increasing refinery capacity and postponing or curtailing planned maintenance work, the government would be able to ensure that pumps wouldn't run dry.

Putin responded by saying that the threats being created by "the Kyiv regime" must be "minimised" and that the continued Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure could not be allowed to influence events on the front lines, where, he said, "Russian troops are liberating one settlement after another, one territory after another."

Though, according to Putin, the continuing Ukrainian attacks on Russia only served to "motivate the soldiers on the battlefield to carry out the tasks set before them by the country", he also stressed Russia's readiness for negotiations with Ukraine, though only on the basis of agreements reached between the parties at peace talks in Istanbul in 2022.

According to a report by the Financial Times on Monday, Putin has become increasingly deluded about both the Russian military's progress on the ground in Ukraine and the scale of its own technological advances, and is having his perception of reality further warped by the frequency of the briefings he receives from the Russian military's Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov.
