Biggest ever world cup upset possible?

If Croatia and Mexico draw, Cameroon can can knockout Brazil by winning! :gasp:

Though I think that would need Tamasian levels of support for Brazil for it to happen.  :P

It's not inconceivable. Brazil's attack misfires, Cameroon get lucky defensively, and in the 85th minute as Brazil are leaving all sorts of space at the back to try and get that winner and a fortunate cross flies into the box to be headed in by a journeyman Cameroonian striker.

I'm sure the refs will disallow any goals against Brazil just to be safe.

I was in a random burger place in suburbian Alabama  yesterday evening when the game was shown. They had it on their screens and most of customers actually watched it. Reactions were much more subdued than elsewhere in the world. No wild jumping around when scoring or swearing when conceding a goal.

You should be glad.  When Alabama lost in the last second to Auburn last season one woman shot her friend when she showed insufficient emotional distress.

Also the Alabama woman attacking the Oklahoma frat boy at the Sugar Bowl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPojG4XpLAY

So, yeah, you want those people subdued.

Too funny, people at work discussing the US game.

"What, there's no overtime?"
"Why didnt they pull their goalie in the last minute?"

It's just not our world, man.

Dutch will win

:(

Doesn't really matter though. Brazil get to pick who they will play, not Chile or Holland.
Thanks FIFA  <_<
Wait, what? They do?

The B games are before the A games.

Your references continue to elude me.

The first one was a reference to the infamous Germany-Austria draw in 82 to keep Algeria from advancing.  :smarty:

Ah, I was referring to the more modern 2-2 tie between Sweden and Denmark to keep Italy from advancing in the 2004 EC. A choice I made solely to annoy Pedrito.
:P  ...and what a well-built draw was that!

I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

I was going to watch at a friend's place, but apparently they had a baby yesterday.
That shouldn't matter, right?  :P

Most everyone I know was watching the US-Portugal game yesterday.  And the ones I've spoken with yesterday and today have all prefaced their reactions with "I don't like soccer, but I watched the game and..." :D

Americans are not crazy about soccer?  I remember when we first discussed this during the 1990 World Cup.  Well ok probably the 1950 World Cup....
