Austria used to have a snarky (and politically highly incorrect) commentator duo offering an alternative commentary to the "normal" one, which was really awesome. They're not doing that any more, though. :(

Every year, I am amazed that show keeps going on.

Celine Dion won in 1988, there is no need to have any more competition.
Colonel Caliga is Awesome.

The Ukrainian broad is very easy on the eyes but her song is pure Elevator.

Congratulations, you have understood how Eurovision works.

I just realized that it's been 10 years since Ruslana won.  Now her song was really genius;  you actually didn't have any lyrics to distract you from the music.  She just "la-la-la"'d for a couple of minutes to an energetic music.

Syt

Also, Ruslana was hot.

I miss the days when someone like Verka Serduchka would compete for Ukraine. :(

Eurovision is one of those things marking my time toward death. I have no anticipation for it, obviously don't watch it, don't know when it should be coming. All I know is that every once in a while a thread pops up "Eurovision" and that means a year has passed since the last one, and the number of Eurovisions I have left to live through has reduced by one.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

Here's Bosnia-Herzegovina's entry from 2009. It's one of the few Eurovision songs from recent years I actually remember and like (there's many more memorable and actually relatively well known songs from the 60s and 70s).

Ide may appreciate the video for its Soviet/revolutionary aesthetic. ;)

Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Poland's song "We Are Slavic" are 5 blond females rapping with high pitched voices in old fashioned dresses. Redeemingly the front woman's dress is shorter than those of past days.

And the butter churning girl on the right is.. a little to visual with that stick.

This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen in the eurovision.

The cloth washing girl on the left is just turning this into a miss wet t-shirt contest. HOLY SHIT THOSE ARE SOME NICE TITS.

I remembered what the Polish song reminded me of, Die Antwoord.

In an attempt to garner interest for this thread I'll post a picture of one of the polish girls.

The whole video is fanservice wearing folk dresses.
