Walk 12-15 minutes now, so essentially nothing.  Except my dignity, when I fall on my ass in front of an elementary school spilling hummus and cottage cheese in the street.

Used to drive about 1 gallon's worth each way, so 10 gallons a week, plus incidental driving around (to court, jail, etc).  Longer investigation trips, I got reimbursed at .50/mile.  So $35-40/week, $140-160/month.

Still gross.

The tunnel toll is US$14 for 2 trips, so the daily cost is US$14.

Plus whatever petroleum costs.  A rough and unscientific estimate is about US$4 per day.

So that's around US$18.

About 47 calories one way according to the net. 47 * 2 * 20 = 1880 calories for four weeks of work.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.

Tamas, how's your accent?
From 1 to 10. 1 sounding retarded, like timmay when he is drunk, 10 sounding like spellus given a presentation for his PhD with no cognac.

Must be around 3 I guess.  :P

When I lived in Tokyo it cost me around £70 a month for a travel card.
Now I just cycle. Better in every way.

67,10 euros a month in Paris for the central zones (includes a tiny belt over the périphérique) and wherever métro lines end, in a couple of cases it's zone 3. Otherwise, the monthly pass is dezoned on week-ends, summer holidays (partially) and bank holidays, which means going to Versailles, the airports by public transport is free then. By taking a year pass, it drops to 59 euros a month or so.
There were plans for dezoning totally but the Greens came back to reality and public transport in Île-de-France, specially outside of Paris needs funding, not underfunding, since it's saturated. The service could be better by having London-style prices but then people would complain about the prices instead of the service. Not to mention the strikes, less frequent since the Sarko law about minimum service.

In Frankfurt, the Monatskarte increased again, it's 83 euros now, as always more expensive than in Paris (one of the few things more expensive in the Ford of the Franks than in Paris). It includes the airport though, since it's very close to the city center, unlike most big cities. After 19.00, somebody can ride with you for free in the public transportation system as well. The monthly pass  is paid by the employer in my case.

Why is public transport so friggin' expensive everywhere but here?

Yeah, but getting around Frankfurt according to DdB is still almost three times as expensive as getting around Vienna. And Vienna has a rather good public transport network.
