The Pirates have secured their Wild Card spot.  :)

Congrats to the Pirates. Now lose, please.

Second year in a row both the Os and the Pirates made it to the post season.  Hopefully they will not meet in the World Series.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

Millwaukee is not mathematically eliminated from the playoff hunt just yet.  If the Giants lose all the rest of their games and the Brewers win all theirs, they're in!

But basically in the NL the only question left is who will win the NL Central.  Cardinals are trying to give it away by dropping two straight to the Flubs, but the Pirates finally lost a damned game yesterday so there's still a 1.5 game gap.

Royals are in the playoffs!  First time since 1985!

I, for one, had absolutely zero belief they'd do it.

And they're still only one game back from the AL Central.

Could StL please lose two games? That'd be swell, thanks. :)

Not likely!  I went to the ball park and some my "Raz magic" rubbed off on them.  In fact I was rubbing my magic all over that stadium.  Now I have to face a country judge come December. :(
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

For the first time in my adult life I can say I'm proud of my hometown team. Thanks, Reds.

Jee whiz - for all my hype o Languish, I couldn't actually watch any Royals games (well, I watched an inning or two one last weekend) - they just aren't on Canadian TV.

But I have reserved the TV for Tuesday night.  -_-

No idea if this Giants team can beat Pirates.

I'd be worried about the Royals, they're the scariest team in the AL for the O's, but they're going to have to get over that 1-5 season series record against Detroit first.
