See, a few months back Valmy and Seedy would have been thrilled with a simple playoff appearance even if followed by a quick exit.  Now they are turning their noses at the prospect of just making to the Series, only total victory will suffice.  It's a small step from there to becoming just as demanding as a Yankee fan.  Only it's even worse when the provincials do it - look at how awful the Bosox fans became.

I'm what you'd call a more relaxed fan.  The 2006 WS scratched an itch and ended an unjust 24-year drought.  In the incredible 2011 WS run I was just happy they made it to the playoffs and they were playing with house money the whole time.  I'd love to see them get to the WS this year, but if they lose in the divisional series I'll be okay with it.

Honestly I've felt spoiled with this team, given how other teams I support tend to be underdogs.

I'm undecided whether a "one and done" wildcard game will truly satisfy my long-surpressed Royals fandom or not.

It still seems completely astonishing to me though that this is happening.  I mean - it's the Royals.  They haven't been good since I was a child.

This is likely to be their only division title for awhile.  So I hope that somehow miraculously they get red hot and take advantage.  1983 has been sustaining us for a long time.
