I love how Apple's autocorrect wants to spell it NY Jests.

Playoff baseball is doing it for me.  Kinda surprised at the Bengals-Patriots spread, though.

I'm about done with pro football myself. The constant fantasy shit and blithering over analysis just about sets my teeth on edge.

I hate the fantasy blather too.

"Oh yeah, you should definitely start Peyton Manning this week"

Thanks, Tips.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

ulmont

Where are your lines from; I was seeing Chicago -1 over New Orleans, but you have New Orleans +1 over Chicago?

CountDeMoney

Yeah Ulmont, I don't know what CBS Sports was thinking on that one.

Meanwhile...wow.

QuoteThe Ravens have cut veteran wide receiver Brandon Stokley and have re-signed veteran tight end Billy Bajema.

Stokley's release is a good indication that Jacoby Jones (knee), Marlon Brown (hamstring) and Deonte Thompson (concussion) are nearing a return.

The veteran wide receiver, a member of the Ravens' Super Bowl XXXV championship team, had been dealing with a groin injury and didn't play in the Ravens' 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday.

Stokley didn't practice Friday and was listed as questionable on the injury report.

As a vested veteran, Stokley's $940,000 contract is guaranteed and counts against the Ravens' salary cap.

Bajema is known for his blocking. He was cut Thursday when the Ravens made their trade official for offensive tackle Eugene Monroe.

Bajema is playing under a 1-year contract tthat counts $155,000 against the salary cap under the minimum salary benefit.

You've got to be kidding.  940K for a #5 WR is bad money?

CountDeMoney

I think what GF is trying to say is, since the most recent CBA, you're seeing a wider disparity of salaries between certain positions.  Wonder where they got that idea from.

Neil

I think that Stokley was a #3 receiver.  And a million dollars a year for a guy in Stokley's situation is pretty good for the player.
