Razgovory

I've just accepted QTEs as an annoying part of modern design.  Sort of like "lives" systems of yesteryear.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Witcher 2's QTEs were annoying but not game ruining. Its combat system was pretty bizzarely bad though. The original was amazing. The second...meh
The boxing QTE was game-ruining for me.  The catapult one at the start at least had some game value.  The push "random buttons fast enough when the prompt appears, like a lab rat" boxing QTE just destroyed my faith in the game design completely.  Designers who would add absolute shit like that were obviously more interested in doing stupid stuff just to be doing stuff, so i bailed to spend lifespan on something more promising.

Agree that the original was amazing (other than the railroading common to all Bioware games of the period).

Remember when EA used to publish pretty good games from great developers? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

SimCity 2000 is 20 years old, and can now picked up for free at Origin (in case you don't have a GOG copy yet).

  For an Austrian, you're remarkably dialed in on American pop culture references.

I'm confused at this point. I guess I'm transnational.

So which is it?  I thought you were an Austrian that spent time in Germany and went back to Austria.

I would say you all look alike, but that would be racist.

My bad.  Now who the fuck is the Austrian around here?

I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Yi's the nearest we have to an Austrian here.
