As for non-comic zombie movies I liked the Dawn of the Dead remake. I think it was a good movie.

Objectively?

That's probably just because the chick getting beheaded when the van hit a bump gave you a hard-on.  I can't think of any saving graces to that movie.  Crap story, crap setting, crap characters.

Horror just isn't conducive to any serious writing efforts, though I do make an exception for ones with strong "psychohorror" elements like High Tension or The Devil's Rejects (once you get past the weird inbred family thing, you come up with a full-circle "revenge" storyline not unlike No Country for Old Men).
Experience bij!

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

She's Out of My League

There's a reason I classify "romantic comedies" under "Fiction".

Barney's Version. While not a bad film, it's not a great film either, though it thinks it is. Decent performances abound, but it's droopy and saggy reflecting it's author & or it's star? not reason enough to let the pacing sag. Worth a rental, may pique interest in reading Richler for some, which is a good thing.

Leaves of Grass, starring two Edward Nortons, one Tim Blake Nelso, one inexplicably charming Kerri Russell, and a bombed-out Susan Sarandon.  10 sterile-earth hydroponic pot farms out of ten.

I watched 2 episodes of Buffy last night. How did this go on for years?

Nerdy chicks, presumably.

Season opener was as much :bleeding: as it looked from the trailer, but I still think it's gone off the deep end. We'll see how it turns out I suppose...

Into very, very cheesy effects.  Looks like they raided a Halloween store.

Just saw the Captain America trailer.

The good: Lots of cool Super Weapons from the Good Guys.

The bad: The Good Guys are set up to lose. Again<_<
