Just ordered new accessories for the bike! :w00t:

Sitting down should make cycling vastly more comfortable.
And although not necessary, most people tend to opt for two handlebars.

Always the wise guy, next you'll be telling us your still cycling (me thinks of my bike gathering dust* in the shed).  :P

* Almost unprecedented I've not been out in two days. :gasp:

That saddle isn't really comfortable to sit on for at least 200km.. and 30km is too much in one go. Ouch. :(

Is it a Brooks?

If so you have to take special measure to mould it to your requirements.

Yeah, but it takes a while. My other Brooks is more comfortable than my couch at this point.

What I heard about wet newspaper is probably a old wives tale?

There's nothing about it on cycling guru Sheldon Brown's website. :P

Did 20-25 miles on the bike yesterday evening, too much in the 80F heat.  :(

It's very enjoyable, even though it's raining nonstop and my gear turns out to be less than waterproof. I climbed a 600m ridge holding an umbrella  :bowler:

Excellent, consider yourself an honorary Englishman*.

* Guessing what a local Scotsman  might say about your wanton deployment of said umbrella.

It was a Scotsman who suggested it actually. It never crossed my mind.

Due to the temperatures have taken to going on late rides, waited till 8.30pm and it was still 83F, but went anyway, nice ride, but still missed the cooler night air as I got back before dark.  :hmm:

Been using an old 3speed mixte bike the last week, which is 'interesting' as in no getting out of the saddle, which I normally do a great deal, plus with only two gears, high and low, makes going up hills a challenge.  :P
