Yeah, it's not for the money.

I'm guessing the wall funding will be something along the lines of a tax on Mexican remittances or somesuch.

Already seen some reqs getting pulled, and for the ones that are active, if they didn't have their start dates identified with their prehire paperwork already in the can, candidates are getting "we'll call you when this whole thing blows over".

I have been LOL'ing quietly to myself.

Are you still a temp, Seedy?

Aren't we all temps in the greater scheme of things?

No

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

SO Trump has announced a investigation into voter fraud.

Does his staff just groan when they hear the latest bullshit they are expected to peddle, or are they all just "Yes, Mein Trumpfer! That is a astoundingly awesome idea! We will get right on that!"

It's hard to be profound in 140 characters.  Which is what makes it the perfect medium for Trump.

I thought I was pretty profound in my email to Grassley.  :)

For better or worse (its worse), the guy just got elected president. Immediate impeachment won't do anyone any good. You also lost any claim to profoundness with the messed up apostrophe.  :P

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

trump doesn't care about abortion, and abortion isn't in his gettysburg address. so, why would he ban it if not for the money?

(edit) I suppose to gain more support among the evangelicals is one answer

Fuck.

Well, I'm just trying to communicate on a level to which you will relate.

Quote from: Admiral Yi on January 25, 2017, 02:37:43 PMI'm pretty sure a significant decrease in the corporate tax rate would be several orders of magnitude larger than the savings from a non-uniformed federal hiring freeze.

woah woah

I didn't necessarily mean a significant decrease, unless that's the current plan in the trump administration. I meant whatever he's likely to do. I also meant the totality of all the acts saving cash -- the abortion ban ($600 mil), etc. though, I have no idea how much cash these little acts, once all is said and done, will free up

The "abortion ban" saves $0, because there has been a ban on federal spending on abortion for about 15 years. If trump can come up with, say, 1,000 ideas that each save the same amount ($0), then we'll be talking real money:lol:

Don't feel bad, you at least used the apostrophe in another post.  He hasn't.  His is still missing.

so, this is going around -- not confirmed though

QuoteOfficial as of this morning January 25, 2017:
DoD is under a hiring freeze. Per OSD direction: It applies to all prospective employees who had not entered onto duty as of 12 noon, January 22, 2017. It further applies to appointments of current Federal employees from other agencies into the DoD or a Military Department; appointments of current Federal employees moving between or within the DoD and a Military Department or between Military Departments; and reassignments or promotions of current Federal employees within any organization of the DoD or a Military Department. And it applies regardless of the status of any preexisting hiring discussions, tentative offers, or steps in preparation for a firm offer.

if true, this sucks for law grads or 3Ls who were accepted but haven't started working. especially if all departments adopt a similar stance

..and it's BS

that's good at least :) I shouldn't have questioned trump and just trusted he'd do good by the american worker
