Considering how weak our league is, it's a testament to the FFF's methods how well the national team has been performing.

It perniciously helps that the ring around Paris is crippled with poverty. There's very little to do and playing football is the cheapest entertainment around.

In a roundabout way that's also why I hate VAR, goal-line technology, automated offsides, the chip inside the ball etc. The rules of the game are supposed to be universal from Tombouctou to Seoul.

Rules are the same though? It's no different than calling your own fouls in a pickup, vs having a single ref or a full refereeing team.
