Quote from: Zanza on Today at 01:21:46 PMThe guy Trump nominated for the Fed sounds like a reasonable, orthodox technocrat, not a sycophantic idiot.  I mean that's welcome, but pretty unusual.

Yeah made me think that people who say the stockmarket he does care about still, are right.

The stockmarket is Trump's moral compass...

The balancing act was to get both a sycophant who would do what we wants and a respected person the markets wouldn't panic about, which was always going to be a tough set of requirements.

This is both good and bad news. Obviously it is good to have a reasonable person in charge of the FED.

On the other hand, in order to save the United States, and the world, from itself we might need to have an economic meltdown. Though obviously that would very bad for millions of people including myself.

"At my direction, early this morning federal agents arrested Don Lemon, Trahern Jeen Crews, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lydell Lundy, in connection with the coordinated attack on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota," Bondi said.

Is that the church they walked in chanting? Obnoxious sure. But an attack?

I know people roll their eyes at old man nostalgia but I sure with the days when the most this country had to worry about was our President getting a blowjob, an ex-football star murdering his wife (allegedly), and a figure skater taking out her rival.

Seems like some new Epstein files released today, with more direct accusations involving Trump (among others).  Hopefully they're not fakes planted to discredit the whole concept.

Guess that means we can expect military strikes this weekend as a distraction. Possibly against Iran, but maybe also Denmark or Minnesota.

I just assumed the delay was to shred/delete/purge/demagnetize everything that might implicate the boss.

A magistrate judge previously refused to issue an arrest warrant because of lack of evidence or an identifiable federal crime.  I guess they went judge shopping?  I would have thought that the Bondi Justice Department would be wary of receiving another complete humiliation in court, but that assumes the existence of some sense of shame, which she lacks.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

The reporting is pretty thin...the only thing I found said that they empaneled a grand jury to issue an arrest warrant.

The Minsky Moment

They had to find another magistrate to authorize the convening of a grand jury.

Took me a second of wondering what president killed his wife before I caught on

Warsh had an established reputation as a monetary hawk that vanished virtually the moment Trump won the election.  Then all he wanted to do is cut rates.

The Street will be happy because he is one of them and because he managed to serve on the Fed before without crapping all over himself, but he is political.  Unless he has been craftily concealing his true beliefs to get appointed, he is going to follow the WH line and prime the pumps leading up the midterms.
