I am curious how a party that seems pretty clear on its policies to dramatically reduce freedoms for people calls itself the Party for Freedom. But maybe it makes more sense in Dutch.

It doesn't. It only works if it's short for Freedom To Go Back To The Good Old Days When Minorities And Women Knew Their Place.

Not much. Almost all parties have excluded Wilders, so he's not getting in unless he gets a monstrous amount of votes. The remaining parties are pro Europe, mostly pro Ukraine and somewhat pro environment.

We call ours The Progress Party.

It is sort of in the cards that the more "democratic" and "freedom" words there in a party's title, the less there is of it. "Peace and Reconcilation" usually means "Let me put my boot in".

Leftist parties have co-opted the environmentalist agenda, so our green party usually only runs around 1% of the vote - and their agenda is rather narrow, they are more of an animal rights party than a true green party in the European sense.
