How strange that these large scale, inflammatory raids only seem to happen in blue states? Such a mystery.

Waiting for the "law and order", "ackshually, that's not a good way to protest" blah blah blah crowd.

I see. Didn't know that. So do the states contribute to the national guard? Or is each states guard separate but in the same command structure?

Each state has national guard units which are under the control of the governor, but they can be "federalized" for national service as Trump did here.

The Texas National Guard, for example, was sent to Italy during WWII as the 36th Infantry Division.

This is a hold over from the 18th and 19th centuries where each state was supposed to have militia units which were supposed to do all the fighting should a war break out. But then in 1812 a war did break out and the militia units were shown to be garbage so we developed a regular professional army with the old militia units becoming our reserve force or the National Guard.

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. The craziness just gets higher...
Really seems more like California should think of mobilising it's national guard to stop trump here.
Fingers crossed it doesn't keep spiralling and he is just being a prima Donna.
