Nah. I usually use my bonus as a cash cushion throughout the year, for some unexpected/non-routine expenses. I still have about 20% of my last year's bonus in my bank account.
I got about 90% of my monthly salary as annual bonus. :)
Not as good as our competitors though...

Depends on shoot in regards to props or set decoration.
Also usually get shirt/jacket/hat from each production as well.... Well at least in scripted stuff, not so much in reality shoots.
Yeah, I suppose the reality stuff has lower budgets for promos and whatnot.

Hmm, good question. Do we have any lawyers posting here?
Minsky being a partner in a NY lawfirm, I'm pretty sure he is way richer. Malthus is quite likely richer too. And Ed Anger has some assets too I'm led to understand.
Possibly CC too especially if you count household income as I understand his wife has a good job, too.
Joan is a partner? Never heard that before.
I got two bonuses this year and then bounced to a new company.

Taxed funny? Care to elaborate on that?
Hmmm I could be wrong. Now that I think about it, ~30% of that my gross was withheld, plus the 15% agency rakeoff for bonuses. (Taxes = :) ; agency cut = <_< ) It just seemed like a lot since it was like $400 and I really wanted to make three figures take-home that week.
Good job on the bonus. :showoff:
Is it totally discretionary, or do you get it for making hours or billing targets?
I hope to get the bonus this year too (here, we get it for meeting certain hours targets).
As for who is the richest, I have no idea. Probably one of Lemonjello (assuming his ex and the real estate market didn't get it all), Caliga, Ed, CC or Joan are the top contenders. Though I sure *feel* a lot richer now, after paying off my mortgage.
The nice thing about owning one's home, at least for a pessimist like me, is that it makes it much easier to survive should bad things happen. We really could live on very little now, not that I want to, but it is much better than back in the day when the money had to flow.

Yes, my monetary ambitions go little further than paying off the mortgage these days, everything after that is gravy. So about four numbers on the lottery should do it!

It's discretionary. Billable hours are a strong contributing factor, though (although the higher you are, the less important they are, within reason). It largely depends on the partner leading the practice too.

A one month salary bonus isn't even 10%...There are some employers that have bonuses well over 100% of salary for higher level employees that are given for basically just sticking around, and 10% and up for almost anyone with a college degree. It isn't that they make more money than other people, it is just the way compensation is structured at those places.
I'm sure that Martinus makes a lot of money, but it could be he just managed to avoid getting fired for the past 12 months and they call a part of his salary a bonus. Or maybe he is the office superstar.

Yeah that was silly from Mono, based on this news, as I didn't list absolute amounts, so it could have been 100% of 500 bucks for all we know. :P
Btw, bonus in our office is quite rare - the range is from 25% to 150% of monthly salary, but I'd say only about 10-20% of people get any at all. So, no, this is not a "hidden compensation" scheme.

Well, all I could find is that apparently, there are 50 thousand people in Poland which is about 0.2% of the productive age populace, who earn over 20 000 zloty per month (which is about 4 700 € per month i.e. 56 400 € per annum).
