I only drink pop from the navel of a waxed boy-band singer.
i'm partial to the can.
can
Crackle!
God, I hate you people.
Coke. Should be from Glass but I settle from an aluminium can.
Glass bottle. Plastic bottles came around when I was around 12 and it all went to hell.

Why are things better from glass bottles?
I just can't see a logical reason for it...but its true. I've long thought the same of milk too.
Because glass is better at keeping it cold then plastic.
Coke and Pop Rocks.
Soda tastes best from a glass bottle, with cans close behind. Plastic isn't nearly as good.
I don't care much for Rice Krispies.
I call my father "dad".
Coke is my spiritual father.
Wtf is Pop? Never seen that around these backwater parts of the world.

QuoteA soft drink (also called pop, soda, coke,[1] soda pop, fizzy drink, tonic, mineral[2] or carbonated beverage) is a beverage that typically contains water (often, but not always carbonated water), a sweetener, and a flavoring agent. The sweetener may be sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, or a sugar substitute (in the case of diet drinks).
A soft drink may also contain caffeine, fruit juice, or both.

It's what hicks from the Midwest(and apparently northern England) call Coca Cola and similar drinks.
Pop is better when it has a lot of rock influences.
Big, plastic bottle poured into a glass full of ice.

Do you melt the bottle?
I don't think its just the coldness factor. Even straight out of the fridge glass just seems...better. Even when they've been left at room temperature...its better.
Glass is inert, the various types of plastic leak organic compounds into the drink and contaminate our precious bodily fluids.
I prefer it on draught. :bowler:

Yes I was going to say fountain - though I see you posted a pepsi one that yet has coke.
Also, does Ed want that soda/pop map posted again?

Fountain Coke is inferior to Canned Coke. Fountain Dew is an abomination.

Depends on the fountain / recency with which syrup was changed as I've had some vary delicious fountain cokes but also some very disgusting. So more variability with fountain.

I agree on drinks tasting better in glass bottles. But I rarely drink too much of soda/pop anymore. It either has too much sugar, or uses nasty artificial sweeteners. The most I drink of soda is ginger ale, and occasinally a coke or pepsi. Even juice I'm very picky about. Nothing with high fructose corny syrup, or additives. :)

Yep, you never know if you're going to get the right mix of carbonization and syrup or not. And if it's not, the drink will be anywhere from just not quite right to downright nasty and undrinkable.
And I meant very not vary. :(

Yup. Or there's too much water in the line. That totally ruins it for me. Flat and watery. :yucky:
I haven't seen a glass bottle since I was growing up in the third world.

A lot of places I've been to now import the Mexican coke that is made with cane sugar. Those are all in glass bottles.

Up until about 20 years ago, the most common case container for soft drinks was the 8 pack of 16 oz. returnable glass bottes. I haven't seen those in a long time, but a lot of places you'll still see the 6 pack carton of 10 oz. glass bottles. Why they have them, I don't know, because they charge as much for those (or more) as they do for the 8 pack of 24 oz. plastic bottles.
You'll also still occasionally find a vending machine that dispenses glass bottles.
Jarritos are everywhere.

Well that's true but I thought were were talking about conventional (traditional?) sodas. There are certainly tons of other brands that still use glass bottles - IBC being one.

Actually I just noticed for the first time that said map says it only is based on 120k respondents which means some of those counties are probably only mapped with a handful of individuals.
That's a good looking' map there Garbo.
I guess glass wins as it interacts with the contents the least, I think.
Now whether the 'taste' the other container materials impart is real or imagined is hard to say.
According to the soda/pop/coke map, it looks like the US needs some legislation on the proper name for soda/pop type beverages. Congress and the President should get right on it, or at least appoint a Blue Ribbon Commission!
Brits say pop ergo pop is correct

I'm finding the Polack cookies to be fairly tasty and lower in sugar.
Hopefully I won't get a sudden urge to collaborate with the Germans.

Wouldn't that be more likely to be caused by French cookies? Or maybe Swedish cookies?
Pop is a section in the music store where I work. Soda is a fizzy, refreshing beverage.
