Do you find that Languish makes you much more aware of what's happening in the world than your typical co-workers and friends "in real life"? For all its silliness, Languish seems to have a knack for really delving deep into some of the issues discussed here - I find it quite annoying that most people here in Poland seem to have a much more superficial understanding of especially political issues (if any at all).
I wonder if this is just a Polish thing (admittedly the majority of issues discussed here on Languish focuses on the Anglo-Saxon world) or do you experience this as well.
I was already superior to my fellow Americans, Languish had nothing to do with it.
It's not exclusive to Languish but yes, most people around me have little interest in things like politics.
Being a human instead of a cat or dog gives me more awareness.
Yes. I always thought of it has a language devide.
It's self-selection bias more than any added benefit.

You lot are a bunch or morons compared to people i deal with in "real" life.

At least some of us speak proper Spanish. And know football. ;)
Definitely. I am an electrician (sort of) so I spend a lot of time on construction sites. It is pretty amusing to read an informed discussion like the one here on the health care law then go to work and listen to some fucking sheetrocker preach that the Supreme Court has to overturn the law because it is socialism and socialism is against the Constitution. :bleeding:
True when I was younger, less true in college. Neil and CDM's writing style did ingrain self-confidence in me though.

Good grief Chipwich, how are you doing; you're a rare vistor here.
I lurk all the time, I just don't post often.

You tell Ide says he hopes he accidentally nailguns his hand to a wall.
I didn't even know that the word Socialism is in the constitution.

Why would a sheetrocker have a nailgun?
I learned that Wierd Al is suing Sony. But for Languish I would never have known that piece of information. I will leave it to others to determine whether knowing piece of trivia makes me better informed or an otherwise better person.
Trivia knowledge is the true measure of a man.
I think JR explains complex legal and economic issues better than any professional writer on those topics. Other than that, I treat what I read here as amusement and certainly write that way.

Well, are we a bunch, or are we morons? Clarify! :P
I find lots of interesting stuff of value in debates here. Not always - sometimes it is fun to just shoot the shit, or make puns to annoy BB. ;)
I learn more about the Jets then I would have thought any human could endure.

Yeah ... but that's not saying much. ;)

Pshaw. I could give you daily updates about the team and players. There is much, much more Jets knowledge to be shared - what I have shared here is but the tip of the iceberg.
Yes but that goes beyond the limits of human endurance.
I learned from Tim that many people have such bad taste they need to be shot.

Yes, I like Tim's thread for that, informing me of stuff I may otherwise not read.
