I was just chatting with Glenn, a boy of merely 12, full of the mirth built of ignorance of what life will throw at him. We meandered into philosophy (not that the lad would realize it, of course, being only schooled on an american college student's level), and I asked him if he's read The Phantom, noting that it has surprisingly many good lessons on how to be a moral man what with only being a comic. Glenn grinned his toothy grin and nodded knowingly. At this, Glenn's mother blanched and from her copious pig-like face roared opposition.
"What kind of bullshit are you teaching him?"
At this, I merely smiled and chuckled in response, expecting that she was either joking, or one of those idiots. Quite probably both. She didn't have to say it, but it was in the air: "Violence is never the solution."
"To always be fair, but unyielding in the face of injustice."
In a great huff, she waddled away, and I was spared a sermon. Obviously, she was dead serious.
Poor Glenn, indeed.

Apparently, you can't make a silk purse out of them.
Other than Grallon, I'm not sure any person on this board would be less of a good choice to mentor a 12 year old boy than Slargos.

I imagine Grumbler works well with children. I used to be good with children. Now I just frighten them and give them nightmares. Same thing with adults for some reason.

True. I can't stand children. I only want gays to be able to adopt because I want fundies to go into hysterics.

I'd be an excellent mentor - guiding them slowly but surely towards their 15th birthday. ^_^
G.
So, the topic is which Languishite would be worst with kids? Hell, *that* narrows it down.
Actually, Slargos would probably be pretty good with 12 year old boys. Shares a lot of interests in common with 12 year olds - shooting stuff, fast motorcycles, comic books, simplistic answers to social problems ... :P

They are lying to you. They are just flattering you, because they want to have sex with you.
Next time one gushes about how good you are with kids, reply: "wanna try for some?"

Beginning of the school year. He is busy with much more important things.

No, the only anti-semite in this story is Slargos.
I agree. Poor Glenn. :(

What the fuck is that? It doesn't look anime, so I can't rightly add him to my Axis of Anime. I think.
Closer to furriness.
Big eyes and it is a frog with a sword. J'accuse!

Epic Fail at not knowing Glenn from Chrono Trigger. I mean, it was only THE BEST CONSOLE GAME OF ALL TIME. No worries. :)

Best console game of all time was General Chaos on the Sega Genesis. Or Mutant League Football.
I have ruled on this matter. Case closed. Baliffs! Send Cal to the guillotine.
 I've never watched a single anime movie. Except Appleseed.

Overruled. Chronotrigger was awesome back in the mid-90s.
I thought it might be a Wind in the Willows reboot.

I remember it. I didn't recall the character's name. Back then, the graphics weren't advanced enough to really look like anime. It was one of the great RPGs for the SNES. What I remember about that one was it had multiple endings, which was rare for console game.

That was a big benefit to games back then. I think if the tech had been better, the games would have bled more of the creators' aesthetic into them and people wouldn't have liked them as much. Look at Final Fantasy 12. :yuk:

I'd rather not look at that. The SNES was the last console I owned. My little Bro had a N-64 and a Play Station which I occasionally played, but I moved over to PC gaming and never looked back. I had almost no knowledge of Anime at the time. I just knew that Speed Racer sucked, and once I saw an anime late at night which was really weird and after the cartoon sex my dad didn't think appropriate for me to watch. Something about vampires and a guy who talks to his hand. It did not leave a good impression.
