47% of all Americans use some form of social networking online. Is Languish's percentage higher?
Facebook. But I look forward to leaving it once Google + opens up :mmm:
Voted the last option, though technically I am on Facebook.
Facebook, Google+ and a German kind of LinkedIn called xing
I use Facebook daily, tested Google+ out of curiosity and use xing occasionally.
Facebook. I ofcourse have profiles on Google+, MySpace & every other start up that fail since 2008 or so.
I dunno, a lot of people at work have been encouraging me to create a profile on LinkedIn, as apparently you can make professional connections with it, so perusers (and more importantly, potential employers) can see the tree.
I object on the grounds that because for every connection you make to an individual that you think is a positive one, there's someone else out there that thinks that individual is an asshole.
I'd rather save that sort of thing for the job interview, and dance around it accordingly.
Meh.
I'm on Facebook, that's it.
Facebook, twitter, google + and linked.
It works for me to keep apprised of jobs from folks I've worked with on previous shoots.
Facebook and Linkedin over here.
Btw, I can vouch for Linkedin's usefulness, at least initially. I started using it last month after being encouraged by a coleague and at least on the networking part of the deal it works quite well. I'll tell you next year if it's a good way to find a new job. :P
Facebook and LinkedIn.
You can guarantee any potential, and probably current employer will check you out on both of these. Not having an account looks like you're hiding something. LinkedIn groups are good for getting information in your profession, it's not just individuals circle-jerking for recommendations.
I have accounts in MySpace, but it's no longer 2005, and Twitter, but I have an attention span greater than 30 seconds, and Google+, but I can't work out what it's good for yet.
I accidentally volunteered to set up a Twitter account for work because I'm a masochist.
By the way, I am not in the phone book as I don't want random people to know my phone number. I prefer to have privacy settings for that. :P

Just added you at LinkedIn.
Facebook and LinkedIn, none of them extensively.
LinkedIn is pretty useless for me, except in case our company fails miserably and I find myself in need of a new job.
L.
hm, registered at LinkedIn, but didn't add any of you whose e-mail my google account knew. I am looking at you, pbem opponents.
Otherwise, I kinda use Facebook, but post very infrequently. Waiting on Google+ to set off, that is more useful for managing social contacts.
Google+ is alright, but it doesn't give me anything that I don't get on Facebook. And it just has fewer people registered, which obviously lessens its social network value.
Fuck you, I don't answer the door why would I use social networking? It's incredibly homosexual.
Facebook and Google+. I had MySpace... back when I was still in high school. I seriously haven't touched that in almost ten years.

MySpace was only launched eight years ago.
I'm not even in the phone book.
It should be multiple choice. I use Facebook and LinkedIn.
I ended up joining Facebook this year for the purpose of talking to my own mother. I don't update it very often and when I do, I wish hadn't, but there you go.

Same. I don't answer the door either. I'll make sure you have my number if I want you to be able to contact me directly. Else, use email or call the office.

Sometimes I answer the door. Other times I hide. When I do answer the door the person knocking usually regrets it though.
Of the choices: "None of the above."
Meanwhile, in Ireland ...
Facebook faces major Irish privacy investigation (http://www.independent.ie/business/irish/facebook-faces-major-irish-privacy-investigation-2866176.html)
QuoteFacebook faces a major probe by the Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) following 'big brother' type privacy complaints.
Facebook's Dublin HQ will be subject to a massive audit by the Irish watchdog after a group in Austria lodged 17 complaints, claiming that even after Facebookers delete information the social media giant's Dublin HQ keeps everything: data on who you've poked, tagged, 'liked', emailed, phone numbers -- even information on sexual orientation and political views. It can amount to thousands of pages of information about you, the group, called Europe Versus Facebook, asserts.
Every Facebook user outside the US and Canada is protected by Irish privacy law as the company's international headquarters is here.
"We will have to go and audit Facebook, go into the premises and go through in great detail every aspect of security," said a DPC spokesman. "It's a very significant, detailed and intense undertaking that will stretch over four or five days. Then we'll publish a detailed report and Facebook will respond."
Facebook's spokesman said that the company was co-operating with the DPC. "We are aware that some complaints have been made to the Irish DPC by individuals in Austria," he said.
Mark Zuckerberg's social networking colossus has in the past faced a slew of complaints from users about how it manages privacy settings.
"We've communicated with Facebook already and it is preparing responses on issues that have arisen on the complaints," the DPC added.
"We'll be looking in great detail at how data is handled and what actually happens to your information and whether any changes need to be made, or if people need to be made more aware of what is happening to their information."
Bono's private equity firm Elevation Partners is a major shareholder in the €100bn valued social media giant.
Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter as well as several others (not MySpace) all for business marketing purposes.
Options 1, 2, and 4.

I never answer my phones and rarely go outside. On the rare occasions that I do, I wear a mask and latex gloves. I sign all documents with a stamp facsimile of an "x".
Precisely the main goal of not being in the phone book is to know precisely who has my number, so I can pick it up without being unduly bothered by spammers, annoying relatives or stupid clients.

I fire a gun through the door. I figure that the only kind of people that really want to see me wear bullet-proof vests anyway.

When I got my latest VoIP landline, spammers knew my number before I did.
Spammer: "Is 555-1234 your number?"
Me: "I don't know."
Spammer: "How do you not know your number?"
Me: "How do you know my number?"
That conversation didn't go anywhere.

I have a good reason for not being in the book. I don't want some mook who I prosecuted being able to call me at home.
Speaking of spammers, I just set up my mobile phone account today so it blocks all incoming calls from "restricted" numbers - anyone whose phone number does not show is not going to be put through and instead will hear a message that he needs to call from a phone with non-hidden number to get through. Works like a charm.

I don't know my landline number. I only use the landline for DSL. It is not connected to a phone terminal.

Yeah no kidding. The other day, my landine phone rang, and I thought wtf is that? Took a minute for it to dawn on me.
Same here. Whenever my landline phone rings, I can bet it's a telemarketer or a survey person. :P

 I don't even own a cell phone. Since I never go anywhere they seemed like a waste of money. I used to, but it went dead and I felt the need to get a new one.

Still sounds pretty fucking stupid. And I bet there's more circle-jerking for recommendations than you think.

Well, Twitting would definitely cut down on the Tourrette's-fueled outbursts at work.
I just realized that I have a dead facebook friend and he's been dead for 2 years. :(
Garbon, if you send in a link to the obituary Facebook will lock the page down and stop sending out reminders and birthdays and the like.
Did it for a friend who killed himself before I signed onto Facebook...got really tired of seeing "you should friend [dead guy]."

Thanks, yeah I think someone did that. I was looking through my list of friends and was like I wonder what he is up to. Apparently nothing. -_-
I've given up on them.
