BSG is over, Lost is a stinky pile of poopoo. I am done with The Mentalist episodes. I love Big Bang Theory.
My coworkers love Supernatural, but I don't like occult shit. And I don't care about Prison Break or Heroes.
So, can you recommend me any TV series from recent past which did not get cancelled like halfway through, and is decent?
Family Guy.
How can you be done with Mentalist episodes?
Excellent, I was about to watch that but kept forgetting.

Ah gotcha you are caught up, still 3 more episodes this season.
Lets see
Chuck is fun
30 Rock
Psych
those are about only three you haven't mentioned in first post that i watch...oh and i enjoyed Life which just finished it's 2nd season.
Six Feet Under (though it depends on your definition of "recent" :P)
True Blood
Dexter
The Unusuals.
Eureka
Everything Ramsay did, either Brit or American. Brit Kitchen Nightmare is more disgusting.
True Blood
Dexter
Band of Brothers
House
I second Chuck.
Oz
Babylon 5
Rome
Thanks guys.
I knew about six feet of course, kinda watched a few episodes, won't start to watch it through though. Band of Brothers is teh awesomeness. Dexter is boring. Babylon 5 I knew, and I am a total fan of Rome.
I enjoyed House on TV, but not enough to pile it up and take it to work.
Gonna' check out Chuck.

30 Rock and Good Eats.
Have you tought about SG-1? It's 141 hours of entertainment. Would last you a couple of weeks atleast.
SG1 has its moments yeah.
Maybe a bit much of a kids show early on though.
Since you mention The Big Bang Theory look to some comedies too- the IT crowd is very languish as is Peep Show. I love The Inbetweeners too. And then of course there's all the older stuff like Father Ted and whatnot.
IT Crowd, How I met your Mother.
Yeah I know IT Crowd. And I could not get into Stargate
It's always Sunny in Philadelphia... ;)

One new series to watch wich we didn't talk about here is
Castle.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_(TV_series) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_%28TV_series%29)
hmm, aside that, let met see... NCIS? And there will be spin off of this starting soon, IIRC.
True Blood is of the same author as Six Feet Under, but you may not like it as it deals with vampires. Nonetheless, it was a nice little series.
Family Guy, pre this season. This season has gotten increasingly preachy and unfunny.
American Dad. Gotten better, especially with the Patrick Stewart CIA guy episodes. And Rodger is Martinus.
NCIS. Rub one off when Cote De Pablo is on screen.
House.
Scrubs. Skip the last NBC season, as it got crappy.
Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Lately I only watch House and Fringe, sometimes still catch Chuck or one of the CSI. The rest is Discovery and History Channels.
I don't know why I watch Fringe. It isn't very good.
There seem to be a shitload of X-Files knockoffs these days.
A series I am enjoying atm is Lie to Me.
House is pretty much the same every week.

Rome was good.
Miniseries-wise: Band of Brothers and From the Earth to the Moon
That's all I can think of...

I didn't realise he was looking for comedy series too, but if so, then I can't recommend Scrubs enough. Along with How I Met Your Mother and United States of Tara, best comedy on TV in the recent years.
Yeah, if we're including pure comedies I'd agree with Ed re: Family Guy and American Dad, throw in a mention for Futurama if you haven't seen it, and third Scrubs but I'd say you want to jump ship after season 4.
Oh, and I totally forgot science fiction. Farscape and Babylon 5 are both worth your time (though both have rocky starts).
Lost.
But you'll need to start from the very beginning. Which isn't always such a bad thing. I'm now in Season 3 of Stargate SG1, for instance.

For comedies: Peep Show, Father Ted (although it's not that recent), both UK and US series of The Office.
For dramas: Lost, Oz, Dexter.
In Treatment is also supposed to be very good but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.
Always Sunny in Philadelphia is really good.
I enjoyed Space Above and Beyond - an oldy though.
Damages, I only saw season one but it was very very good.
I love how the guy asked for a recent tv show and people are suggesting shows from the 1980-1990s (Father Ted) or movies (Shaun of the Dead).
Tamas: Guys, know any good recent tv shows?

Yes, but I merely mentioned the movie as being a point of familiarity for those considering the British TV series I was recommending (namely,
Spaced )- as it has the same actors, writers & producers. I wasn't recommending that people see
Shaun of the Dead, but rather that they see
Spaced - which is a TV series.

At any rate, soon Fox will be the all-American Idol network.
