I just used Hilary Duff because I could easily find the different styles I was thinking of with her. I'm just curious which style is most attractive to you guys. I've a feeling that there will be a good mix for this poll.
A sleek look:

Buh?

The Jack Nicholson/Pat Riley look isn't very feminine.
No glasses. She is not attractive in any of the pictures.
A woman should have long hair, but pulled back into a ponytail or bun. Some hair should partially cover the forehead. Makeup is unnecessary, but can be used sparingly.
No tattoos or piercings other than a single in each ear.
That is the Order of Things.

She does sort of look like Pat Riley there, doesn't she?

A WHITE WOMAN!
Doesn't matter as long as it isn't short.

this one :)
"Windblown" would definitely make me score on the Boner Meter.
Windblown.
The one with the pointy hooters.
Long hair, not in a bun, but not blown all over the place, unless of course it's really windy out.
Is that Lettow's "missus"?
Jeez, Meri did you pick those photos with the intent of making her look as unattractive as possible? Yuck. Only the middle one does she look even somewhat attractive, and in that one, she looks like a streetwalker.
I favour a shag. Quite like the hairdo to.
Windblown
of the pics, no. 2.
Otherwise, i subscribe Neil's post
L.
No fixed preference; it depends on the place and time.
The fuck is this, Redbook?

1 is a bad photo so of course 2.
3 is nasty. Rah-girls always have their hair like that. What they're thinking I don't know.
All 3 are nasty photos. 2's the most palatable, but there's so much Photoshop work you almost can't tell her apart from early career Jessica Alba pics. :(
Need better material to make a choice.

I was merely offering pics to show what I was talking about in hairstyles, not asking if you found Hilary or those pictures in particular attractive.
It comes up because I realize that women have a very different idea of what men find attractive usually. This is a prime example in that a lot of women think the sleek, pulled-back look is highly attractive, but in my experience, only a handful of men find it so. Since I have a very varied group of men here, I thought I'd ask. And since this forum can't seem to understand words without pictures, I found some that mostly resembled the styles I was thinking of, and posted them. I, of course, knew that a contingency of you would bitch about the pics used, but couldn't be arsed to look harder for better pics.

Windblown, for the record. Nothing in a ponytail or bun please. :yuk:

You are correct in that what women find fashionable has little to do with what men find attractive. The way I've heard that explained is that women do not really dress so as to be attractive to men, but to please themselves.
Example: shoes and handbags. Men by and large could not give a shit.

And of course the obsession with trying to look like a skeleton.
Unless of course when I fell over a few moments ago I accidentally slipped into a bizzare parallel dimension where Siege is representative of the average man.

Yes, It is.
Windblown for me too.
I suspect that this is because windblown feels like the most "natural" of the hairstyle choices given; we men have been seeing it for tens of thousands of years longer than any of the others.
I like the look of long hair spread out over a pillow...

The first one does not look good for Hillary Duff. It looks artificial.
The second one looks like a girl you'd meet at a party, so it's very cool.
The 3rd one looks like any of our girlfriend in the morning and no self respecting guy would admit he likes that ;)
Generally speaking, when it comes to hair, I prefer a girl to have hairs sort of like the "windblown" picture, but maybe not as much.
A little curly, about shoulder height, some volume.

Really, if a chick is good looking, she's good looking regardless of what hair style she has. No one is going to turn down Scarlett Johansson because she picked the wrong hair style that day.
The only real exception is for bald chicks, mohawk chicks, and chicks with dreads.

Suzee of Suzee and the Banshees looked pretty good in a mohawk. Agree about bald, disagree about dreads.
A good looking woman can look pretty crap with a shitty perm job.

Actual I've seen a fair few hot dread chicks.
Bald...outright bald no but skinhead can look awesome on some.

If women wanted to please men by their style of dress, then their style of dress would be to not dress at all.
Hair is a natural indicator of good health and nutrition and it's built in to find its presence attractive for most

I remember there was a link to pornstar D&D posted a while ago. One of the pornstars was shaved bald except for a mohawk type thing. Her body was incredibly hot but she looked diseased. So conflicting.
The 'Don't care' look. So long as it's the result of hours of effort :)

Heh... only if "frizz" is a positive thing. My hair is very long and very healthy and VERY frizzy unless I do something with it. That fresh "wind blown" look doesn't just happen, my friend. Most of the time it takes quite some time to get it just right.

Siouxie.
Whether a hairstyle is attractive (assuming an attractive woman, of course) depends on the rest of her outfit and general aura.
Pulled back/ ponytail is great for a hot OL or librarian type look, and also works well with gym-clothes and flushed cheeks or a woman in uniform, for example; the windblown style is great for everyday type wear and some types of evening wear; elaborately styled and done up hair is nice with evening dresses and other fancy outfits.
As always, context counts for a lot.
sleek.
