I was looking through my music collection and realized I have few if any angry songs (most are self-deprecating angst :().
What are some good angry songs (or angry bands?) that I could add?
Would Poe's Angry Johnny count?

Sort of although I'm really looking for attitude or real feeling to it, and not so much anger on a nice soft track a la the Alanis/Tori/Fiona set.
The closest I have in my collection is black women tell off men that did them wrong.
Toby Keith

What songs are you thinking of, because all the ones I can think of are pretty upbeat.
Yeah on iTunes I can't really find that Yi. Even in the few songs I found where he was being mean(?), he still had his same sing-song voice.

You know how I am with names. Who's the guy who did the song about Uncle Sam beating the shit out of every dirty sand nigger in the world?
The Who: Won't Get Fooled Again
Bruce Coburn: If I Had a Rocket Launcher
Bruce Springsteen: Born in the USA (listen to the lyrics; it's not an upbeat song like people think it is)

Thanks but there's like no resonance of anger in those songs. You don't really get the sense that the people are actually angry.
Sex Pistols didn't sound very happy.
An example would be Garbage - Not My Idea. For the most part, I can actually believe the singer is angry while singing the song.
I don't know about your taste in music, but almost every Pantera song makes me want to punch babies.
I can't find a decent Youtube of Fucking Hostile right now.
Here is something a bit mellow

Not Toby Keith.
He's a pretty patriotic guy, but he even wrote a song from the point of view of an Afghan peasant (The Taliban Song). Of course it showed that peasant welcoming the US invasion, but still I thought that was fairly multicultural for a country singer.
@sbr/Brain - So I can only find the anger I'm seeking in metal? :(
There is some pretty angry rap too. I don't like most of the new stuff, but people like Public Enemy and early '90's Ice Cube were pretty pissed, but hadn't gone completely off the ho's/bling/look at me deep end.

Well it has to be music made by losers: metal, hip-hop etc. Winners don't make angry music.

I have some Toby Keith, but don't recognize the name. I'll take a listen.
Some early Courtney Love stuff she did with Hole is pretty angry.
But I've always liked this Lennon tune:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTkc1aKAVYY
I suggest hard core punk band "Sick of it all"
Shit Goat.
You oughta know, by Alanis Morisette.
Rage Against the Machine
Nirvana- Territorial Pissings
Alanis Morissette- You Oughta Know(not sure how you categorize anything by Fiona Apple with this)
Carrie Underwood- Before He Cheats
Nick Cave- Stagger Lee
Three Days Grace- Just Like You
Toby Keith- Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue
System of a Down- Deer Dance(and others)
So I have to avoid Metal bands?
Dead Kennedys - In God We Trust, Inc. (overall a pretty angry punk EP...ok, Rawhide isn't so angry) Also, Holiday in Cambodia is a good angry song.
Dead Kennedys weren't angry, just misunderstood!
Thanks all, I'll look those up. Oh and yeah, I included that Alanis song in my playlist.
Paging Mr. Rollins, Mr. Rollins, white courtesy phone.
They're kinda borderline between punk and metal, but L7 was pretty "angry" (particularly Everglade). I see I was beat to the Sex Pistols.
EDIT: Feeling kinda stupid. Looked again and L7's considered grunge (though they're definitely the heavier side of grunge, ala Alice in Chains).
Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive

Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive
That song does make me want to slash my wrists.
Talking Heads made many great songs, but I think Psycho Killer could fit your playlist best.
Also, Smashing Pumpkins' Ava Adore and Bullet With Butterfly Wings.
Sam Hall, by Johnny Cash. The Man in Black sounds fucking pissed.
I Will Survive, by Cake
Les, by Ben Harper and the INnocent Criminals.

Judas Priest - You've Got Another Thing Comin'
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Scum

Shit Goat.
:pinch:
For me, drinking copious amounts of beer & jamming the live version of "The Midnight Rambler" by the Rolling Stones always makes me want to go out & beat somebody's ass. Or, conversely, help me emote enough in my garage to keep from going out & beating somebody's ass. Six of one, half a dozen of another...
:ccr
Other "angry" songs as they occur to me:
"Who Do You Love" by George Thorogood
"If You Want Blood" by AC/DC
"Eve Of Destruction" by Barry McGuire
"Fortunate Son" by CCR
"Woman" by Anti-Nowhere League (my vote for Angriest Song Ever)
Pat Benetar, Love is a Battlefield.
Pink Floyd: One of My Turns.
Or the whole Wall album, actually.
Been out Garage Drinkin', so...
"I Am A Rock" by Simon & Garfunkel
"Norwegian Wood" by The Beatles
"Reflections" by The Supremes
"Frank's Wild Years" by Tom Waits
"War Pigs" by Black Sabbath
"Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent
Siege doesn't like War Pigs because it blames the military.
No, I don't get it either.
Are you sure it's not because of having Pigs in title?

Actually Pink Floyd's Pigs (Three Different Ones) is a very angry song. Forgot about that one.
Pink Floyd's "When the Tigers Broke Free" is also quite angry.
Ben Folds Five-Song for the dumped is pretty angry.
Some others
Clash-White Riot
Filter-Hey Man nice shot
Mudhoney-Suck you Dry
Stooges-I wanna be your dog
Suicidal Tendencies-Institutionalized
Sublime-Seed

MC5
early Stooges
Black Flag
D.O.A
Sex Pistols
the Clash
Stiff Little Fingers (my #1 angry band, for a long time I had a cassette that had S.L.F!!! carved in it on both sides with a penknife)
Public Enemy
Nirvana
all these band have their moments of anger, some more than others. But these are the ones I go to,
Billy Bragg

Pink Floyd: One of My Turns.

Disqualified because it is mainly Roger Waters' self-directed angst rather than real anger, even with its angrier songs like One of My Turns, Don't Leave Me Now, or the infamous Naziesque trilogy of songs (In The Flesh, Run like
Fuck Hell, Waiting for The Worms).
Run Like Hell is perhaps the least self-angsty of all of The Wall's songs because it is pure acting out aggression put in words. Waiting For the Worms could have been worse if not for the self-loathing punctuating the beginning of the song. But the mere calling for the blackshirts to weed off the weaklings, to break up the windows, turn up the showers and fire the ovens is rather... intensely angry in itself (understatement). But the emotion of pure psychopathic methodical coldness of the microphone as distancing prop does not transmit the same in-your-face wrathful adolescent feeling of Run like Hell., hence why to me the latter would qualify more as an angry song to me.
But when I'm done listening to the whole album, I do feel immensely pissed off at the end. So I guess it works. :P

So is NIN's March of the Pigs.
I'll also propose "Sleepwalker" by Megadeth.
Carly Simon's "You're So Vain" is a great insult song, but not necessarily audibly angry....
Punk rock and heavy metal are definitely the pop genres that picked up anger as a main source of inspiration. I don't really listen to metal, but I agree with the punk suggestions given in this thread.
"Institutionalized" by Suicidial Tendencies is a good heavy punk song about a young man becoming very agitated when his mother won't give him a Pepsi.

Yeah bitch, metalize your wardrobe.
Or weardrove, or whatever you call it.
I recomend:
All That Remains - And Death In My Arms
As I Lay Dying - An Ocean Between Us
At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul
Atreyu - My Fork In The Road (Your Knife In My Back)
Avenged Sevenfold - Seize The Day
Avril Lavigne - I Can Do Better
All this from just my "A" in itunes.

The shorter list is who doesn't Ide want to fuck.
I want to rampage on the set of iCarly. Dressed in a Godzilla suit.
BRING BACK ROCKO'S MODERN LIFE
- Only a pawn in their game - Dylan (those old 60s tunes are pretty fucking upset, but in a laidback kind of way)
Cheers darlin' - Damien Rice (never heard anybody do the "you fucking hurt me" better than Damien Rice)
I want you - Elvis Costello (except this one, may be the world's most vitriolic breakup songs to date)
How you remind me - Nickelback (I have no idea what he's singing about, but he sounds pretty mad)
For a generally meanspirited nature I recommend Midnight Oil up till around Beds are burning. The Dead Heart from that album is tense, but I think they lost some of their energy after that.
I listened to Offspring a lot in 1995, they sounded pretty angry back then.
