I love the old one, hope they don't fuck this one up. At least the monsters look great.

If it doesn't use stop-motion SFX, then it'll be crap.
Looks stupid. Like so many movies its an effects extravaganza that doesn't bother with a plot.
Why is Hades always the bad guy? Why not Zeus or Chronos who were bigger assholes?
I forgot what the original was about. I always confuse it with Jason and the Argonauts and The Sinbad movies.
Movie looks kinda like a mix between Troy and that Beowulf movie. They should call it Troy II: The Trojaning.
Theseus greasing some Greek tool and offing Medusa with a shield.
SPOILER ALERT!

That's really more of a Marty thing.
I will go see it despite the fact that I know it will be awful.
If there is no Kraken being released, it will suck balls. Likely no matter what the Kraken-releasing level it, it will suck balls.
Anyway, didn't we have a thread on this already?

The Kraken is released at the end of the trailer.
I released the Kraken today. Fucker was so long, it popped out of the water in the bowl.
It better have Harry Hamlin in it *shakes fist*

Jim Brown never went to the Super Bowl.
Is the original worth watching?

Is the original worth watching?
Not really. It's a Sunday afternoon on TNT kind of movie.

It's decent, but the Yister has the right of it.
I got the DVD for 3 EUR recently.

Going by the trailer, it's trying to be
Lord of the Rings with
Matrix-style fight moves. That's not a good sign--there's no reason to think it can possibly be as good as LOTR, so it sets itself up to fail if it tries to do the same thing, and pretty much every movie that has tried to copy "bullet time" has sucked. At least this time, they're remaking a crappy old movie instead of a good old movie, so it isn't raping the childhood of anyone who had decent taste.

Was enjoyable when I was six. I tried re-watching it recently and found myself ignoring it.
It's on either Hulu or Netflix on demand if anybody really wants it.
Yeah, it's a much better movie when you're 12, getting you jazzed to play D&D afterwards. Not some much now.
Looks scene-for-scene pretty much teh same as the old one but better. I approve :)
Who else is tired of greek gods? When will we see a norse gods movie? Something about the Ragnarok would be cool if well done.

How about the Tuatha d'naan's war on Balor of the Evil Eye?

I'm still waiting for a good film version of the Greek Gods. I'd love an Iliad or Odyssey adaptation, probably directed by Terry Gilliam :)

Yes there's a lot of material but a lot of it is too controversial for puritan Amerikka and I'd rather not see a... sanitized version of the rape of Europa or the Zeus' Ganymedes forplays...

Maybe Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of Thor can fit that bill a bit. :P
Maybe Marvel's Mighty Thor can be made into a movie.
