Last day tomorrow and don't come back until 4th January. 11 days holiday for just 2.5 days annual leave :w00t:
I'm spending Christmas day with the old man and cooking roast lamb.

What I'll probably do: sit on the sofa eating cheese footballs and watching rubbish TV

I haven't decided yet. I'm the office today for sure, most of the day, tomorrow, I don't really know. Depends how I feel. I do have a lot of work to do, I'm just not sure if it's worth it.
No time off, aside from the public holidays.
What I should do: study the financial markets, and decide what to do next.
What I'll probably do: play games, languish, watch movies, go to wherever the wife wants to go.
I am done teaching, my "official" break is the same as yours, B, but no personal or vacation time needed - the university shuts down and pays us to stay away.
I'm taking Christmas Eve and New year's eve off.
I'm spending Christmas Eve evening with parents. Then meeting a friend briefly during Christmas day. Then going for the dinner to my parents again. Then probably spending Saturday and/or Sunday with my boyfriend. Then back to work. Then having a house party on New year's eve. In the meantime I'm gonna watch Dexter, The Wire, Queer As Folk, Mad Men and Entourage.
PDH, I used to get the same deal at HGSE: the university shut down for the entire time between Xmas and New Years so I got a "free" paid week of vacation. Including that I got six weeks off a year. Probably never see that again as long as I live. -_-
This year, I'm working Christmas Eve till noonish, probably, then off Christmas. Next week, off the 31st and 1st.
I actually like to work between Christmas and New Year's, because nobody is around to annoy me and I can get a lot of shit done.
It started December 18th under the snow. Won't go back to the Ford of the Franks till January 10 th. More than expected and sooner than I expected but I'll live with the consequences ;)
Took 4 weeks off. Going to spend Christmas with the kids, since this is the first year the twins sorta understand there is FREE STUFF Friday.
I'll likely put in an appearance at the wife's church for her. I'll give the old gossips some new material to talk about.
18th to 28th off. Have to work on 31st and 1st though.

I get that. :yeah:
I've been off since noon last Friday, and I won't be back until the 4th. I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow morning, hopefully at the ass-crack of dawn.
Semester break until January 25th. Trying to get my druthers to do more applications for part-time work so I can get away from the strings of a Workforce Development grant.
Not taking any time off. :yeah:
No, really.
The courts shut down this week and next. So this is some of the easiest time to work you'll ever see. Besides we'll almost certainly be told to go home at noon on the 24th, and probably on the 31st as well.
In past years we spend the holidays travelling from Yukon, to Alberta, to Manitoba, and back. It is such a relief to not be travelling anywhere.

My bloke's working Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day :D
He finishes 5pm Christmas day though so I'll pick him up in time to criticise my cooking (thus introducing the usually sitcom-worthy new bloke/family Christmas dinner scenario), then he'll have a couple of random days off during the week.
My last day at work was the 17th, I'll go back the 11th.
I will spend time with family and friends.
I have no days off, so i get thursday and friday off, then the 1st off. But since most of the stuff i monitor will be shut down i'll be here twiddling my thumbs once i get year end down (from my prospective much less work then my colleages.)
2 days short of a month. :w00t:
Nothing special to do though

Umass is doing that. Except there is no free time. Bastards want us to burn as much vacation time as possible.
Since I really don't wanna sit around the house for a week and a half I'm going in to work in one of the three departments that will still be open.
Off from dec 24 to first Monday in January. Nice week. Spending with family and friends, relaxing...and planning to go out for dinner with friends.
Oh, and drinking.

From Friday to January 4th. I haven't made up my mind if I'm coming in on Thursday.
What am I going to do? Watch the IIHF Junior World Championship & play video games. Also, watch porn. A lot of porn.

We (or should I say simply I) have to deliver a report by the 30th, and I should really start to hurry it, as I could only start recently. That means no holidays (besides the official ones) until 2010. We get the 24th and the 31st off anyway, though. I'll take a week or so off in January.

I don't know about other Euros, but in Spain many people work insane hours. Unpaid, of course. Which leads to people doing fuck all during those hours ...
Anyway, I'm not taking any day off either. Got too much work to do, and I hate wasting days during short work-weeks such as these.
Though I might ask to spend a few in exchange for afternoons off. I fucking hate coming back to work after lunch. Kills my productivity, too.
It's only the second day of courts being closed and I'm already getting bored at work. :boring:
I did my final bout of Christmas shopping. I got the Best of Elton John "Yellow Brick Road Anniversary Edition" CDs, "Joys of Gay Sex" guide book, Frankie Goes to Hollywood Greatest Hits, Like a Prayer Remastered CD, a Mika's latest album, plus, for a gift, a gay novel and a pair of red Tommy Hillfiger briefs.
I think the shop attendant may have suspected I'm gay.

Working over the holidays and will take 2-3 weeks sometime in january/february - once I've accumulated it. Does a world of good to really take of for several weeks.
G.
Took 3 weeks off and i'm pumped about it!
I'll work tomorrow from noon until around 6pm or so, then I'm officially off until January 5. On January 5, I'm going on a three-day, two-night company retreat. My real day back will be January 11. That being said, I'm on call for the company from December 26-31, since the owner will be in North Carolina.
As for what I'm doing, the kids are at their dad's from yesterday through December 31, so Max and I plan to have lots of sex between now and then. We're going to midnight mass at the episcopalian church nearby on Christmas Eve, then fuck all on Christmas Day. We might have dinner with some friends at a Chinese restaurant, or we may stay in depending on if we can be bothered to get dressed.
The week after will be spent cleaning the bedrooms until they shine since my mother is coming for a visit. On December 31, the entire Meri family will be coming here for the new year (and I can tell you Max is thrilled!) and to celebrate Jak and Carter's 16th birthday. (It's January 2.) There will be much sewing, puzzles, computer gaming, and board gaming while I'm off, as well.
I get Christmas off because I have to take it, hehehehehehe. I'd rather be out grabbing absconders at 5:00 am on Christmas Day because I know where they'll be.

That too. At least I get the 24th and 31st off because the office is closed on those days. It might be I have to work on 6th January, though (epiphany is public holiday in Austria).
I have my next vacation already planned, though. 2 days in February. Then a day in March. Then 2 days in April. Then two weeks in May. Then two weeks in August. And then it'll be dry season until February again.
I'm in Dorset for a week or so. Today I will have: CREAM TEA :mmm: :w00t:
Back to London to organise the New Year's event of the year.
Then relax for ten days before I start work. Oh and I want fish and chips.

This has been our tradition since we moved to Champaign, and we love it. We do NOTHING on Christmas day, though the first year down here we were stunned to find that pizza places are closed and were forced to cook. Since then, we found out that Chinese places are open and more than happy to deliver. It's just not an important holiday for us, though we do exchange gifts because that's fun to do.
The midnight mass thing is new. I thought it would be fun to see what it's like, since I've only been to one episcopalian mass and liked it well enough, and I used to love singing carols at the catholic church I went to on Christmas Eve. If we like it, we may do it again. If not, well, it will have been a new experience. :D

Oh yeah, I figured. We're going with a friend who attends this church regularly, so he's already got us planning to be at the church by 10pm. Ok, I'm back. :) What I meant, in a friendly ribbing way, is that lately your whole existence, as shown through your behaviour in the forum, seems to revolve around your homosexuality, and your shopping list kinda validates that. All of this is cool for me, but seems kinda obsessive to build so much of your life and personality around it. There's more to life than sexuality. :) Back in the day your line was "Gay atheist Polish lawyer", and nowadays it seems as if the gay part has swallowed the other three items. ;)
As for the second part, there's no need to make everything sexual, things can be perfectly fine and neutral, not everything has to be either homo or hetero.
If you want to keep discussing this, maybe we can go somewhere else, though, as we'd viciously hijack this thread otherwise.

Yes. :cry2:
My exhusband used to think that holidays were given to people as an excuse to have sex. We could have had sex every day of the month, but the moment a holiday came around, it was required. I never did understand his pathology with that, but it's turned me off from sex on the holidays just for spite. Poor Max. :console:

Got my new HD TV so won't be moving much until the 4th. Him indoors only had yesterday off out of the whole two weeks, including working Christmas day, boxing day and new year's day. Bah.
