NA- North America, ROTW- rest of the world. Where you live now, not where you're from.
ROTW- 4+ story apartment
ROTW - private house
ROTW, 70+ storey apartment.
NA - Private house
4 stories??
None of the apartment buildings around here go over 3 stories, most likely due to zoning laws. I figured it was a good spot to separate suburban apartments from apartments in densely populated city centers.
ROTW - Townhouse
L.
10 story apartment, and its one of the smaller ones (but I have a nice big room on the top floor, so it's good for me)
ROTW 4+
(6 floors, plus one directly under the roof)
NA - Private house. And a mortgage bigger than it ought to be. But not too big. :P

Neither did I, not sure if I've heard the term before (looked it up, as I try to do with unfamiliar words)
A duplex is architecturally similar to a regular house, except there's a wall in the middle and two separate entrances to each wing. I believe a row house and a townhouse are the same thing.
By a private house, I meant everyone in the building lives with you. If you live in a subdivided building that's not a dorm or apartment, pick the duplex option.
Armed with my new-found knowledge, I'd like to say that is a Duplex house but there are also Duplex apartments :smarty:
Quoteduplex apartment

–noun an apartment with rooms on two connected floors.

I assume the corresponding terms would be "Parhus" (two units, one building) and "Radhus" in Swedish.

Other: Condominium. My Fortress of Solitude is on the 3rd floor of a 3-story building.

We should also make a poll about how large our places are.
I picked 1-3 floor apartment, but it's really a half-duplex... the first floor is two units, but my second-floor apartment goes from end to end.

You know where I live. I do so in a ground level basement suite, bachelor variety (of a small bungalow.) I share nothing but the yard with landlady upstairs). Becoming smaller the longer I stay, due to my pack rat tendencies.

Just out of curiosity, how much snow is on the ground now where you live? I know it's hella cold but IIRC it's pretty dry, too.

It's not always hella cold (though it is today), but you're right, it's a semi-arid climate. Maybe 12" of accumulated snow at this point.
