The Rammstein thread title was bit much for the general fora.

And the titles recently started by Martinus and Scipio?

I don't think my IT department is that bored between bouts of Quake 3 to check out my internet logs.

Either is fine. NSFW pictures are not cool, but words are okay. Most likely, no one in my IT would understand them.

I like the NSFW threads, but I just prefer them to be labelled.

Errr, I would have thought that in most cases IT monitoring looks for key words, so I don't see how words like "head" are going to be construed as NSFW.

Unless, of course, you have your IT department following your every move and checking every website you go to, in which case you have a bigger problem than threads about getting head, and whether the thread title is "NSFW" or not is irrelevant.

Exactly. I fail to see the difference between a blow job reference in a thread title or inside a thread about the state of global economy, if that is the level of monitoring he is worried about. In which case he should stop posting for work altogether because I can't see the "I didn't click on the bad threads" excuse working for him.

I'm not worried about IT monitoring, but I'd rather not have a topic page with a bunch of explicit items if someone sees it on my computer.

Yes, my boss would not care if he sees the usual Languish topic but catching a glimpse of "Do you like blowjobs" or "NEW RAMMSTEIN PORNO VID HERE" would lead to some awkward explanation.

If it has images of the act, then NSFW.
If it merely discusses which is preferrable without going into detail then SFW.

Well, as I said, we discuss explicit themes in threads here, irrespective of their topics. So frankly I don't see the issue - if you have a problem with someone catching a glimpse of what is being discussed on Languish then probably you shouldn't post here from work.

Then please don't post on Languish from work.

Asking people to mark threads with controversial pictures with NFSW is one thing, but asking people to censor words they use and topics they discuss is another - if you can't stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen.

Then I agree with you. However some people in this thread seem to expect people to censor expressions and words they use, which goes against the spirit of Languish as much as it possibly can.

Again, as I said, if you think your boss would have a problem with you posting on Languish from work, then you probably shouldn't.

Leave it to Martinus to post crude nonsense on the forum, in a pathetic attempt to show off how gay he is.  Just when I thought my contempt for him could grow no greater...

Wow--overreact much? At one point in the past couple of days, in addition to your thread, there was a thread advertising a porn video and another discussing performing bodily functions on another person. It isn't an issue of any thread content or discussion--I can choose to read or not read the threads, if you want to have your threads on whatever topic you want, go ahead--but cant the index at least stay safe for work?

Agreed. If you have been completely aware of my posting history I'm the guy who ends up complaining about people putting NSFW (or at least stopped by the company filter) images into their avatars or signatures. I appreciate that Languishites have been very cooperative and changing their NSFW images in avatars or signatures. But when I'm offshore I do not look at NSFW labelled threads. When I'm at the office I don't even look at Languish.

Ok so let me get this straight. You would have a problem with a thread titled "Do you like getting a blow job?" but you wouldn't with "[NSFW] Do you like getting a blowjob?"

Here's a profanity filter for firefox if you want to filter PG words like porn or take a dump.

Marty, all I'm asking is if you want to have a discussion on that subject, you could ambiguously title it (perhaps just titled, "a question of preferences" or "'tis better to give or receive?"). I'm not super concerned about whether it says NSFW, I'd really just rather be able to leave the index up.

You don't have freedom of expression.

Is it really too much to ask for you to undertake your pathetic grandstanding within the thread, but not in the title?

I don't care what's in the thread, because I can choose to read or not read it.

However, it is easier for all involved if thread titles are kept PG with the appropriate tags. Otherwise I'm just going to start giving my threads titles completely unrelated to their content that exist only to rile Marty, in the name of freedom of expression.

No it is not but I am kinda annoyed by this tempest in a teapot, considering the thread title in question was there as a joke and is not some customary or usual occurrence.

Not to mention that, taken to its logical conclusion, this should mean first and foremost that people would not be able to use words like "fuck" or "shit" in their thread titles (which many people do regularly) which is ridiculous.

"Giving head" could be filtered as a single string, Marti. Spaces are recognized as in HTML. For giggles, type that code in between a couple of quotation marks and hit "post" to see the result. Even the forum software automatically parses it as a space.
