Rutger Hauer, greatest Dutch actor, dies aged 75.
:(
Dammit, did not know he was that old.
RIP Martin.
PS: same as celedhring, in 2019 now that's sad irony.
Who's left in the Netherlands known abroad? Jeroen Krabbé?
2019 of all years...
RIP :(
Lost, like tears in rain. :(

Is he still known abroad? Carice van Houten is probably the most famous one at the moment, even though she is a mediocre actress at best.

Let's hope that moment is not lost in time. The perfect actor for that role - rip
Rutger Hauer was one of those actors I liked to watch even in his bad movies. RIP
A line from his obituary: "because of his distinctive appearance he was often cast as a villain, a psychopath or a German."

A little redundant, no?

I did like his performance as Sturmbannführer März in Fatherland.
(Though the book was a lot better than the film.)
Blade Runner, the Hitcher, Ladyhawke were all memorable movies for me growing up. More recently the Mill and the Cross with him was awesome.

Well, in recent years he showed up in a Transporter movie, for what it's worth. :P
Carice Van Houten has Black Book and that's it?
Michiel Huisman

Game of Thrones.
Then I guess it's her now, due Game of Thrones fame.

To be fair, Huisman was in GoT as well. Not really impressed by either of them, though.
Then again, Dutch cinema has always been an acquired taste, at best. :D

He also was one of the leads in that Netflix show The Haunting of Hill House and a regular in Orphan Black for a couple seasons. Leaving aside some of his parts in American films.
She played the tits in that Eric Bana movie about killing Black September for Munich.

That's basically what she does in every movie. But she wasn't in Munich.

Well shit. Her twin then.
Isn't Famke Janssen pretty well-known?
Correct, though actually I thought she was Danish till you said that.
