Is this what it's like to be old?
It is indeed deeply offensive

I agree and I think so.
I can't deal with it.
Their old and new logos are fine. But I hate it when companies change their logos. Logos should be forever.
It's not really offensive, but it is weirdly child-like. It looks more like a brand for toys than an information company.
New Verizon logo is even sillier.
I don't like it either, Slargos.
I don't get the Slargos gag.

I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that it looks childish.
I guess that they have so much money and are so powerful so they are beyond having to project a "serious" image, and can get away with wanting to seem non-threatening.
Serif font = serious, sans serif = childish?
Ok ...
But yeah, I like the new logo. Looks clean and slick.

Well clearly it isn't that as many logos are sans serif. That said, I do think there is something to be said about the decrease in complexity if people know you for a serif logo and you move to a sans serif. Naturally feels more simplistic at first.
Eventually though, everyone will get used to it and forget all about the archaic logo.

What does "sans serif" mean? "Without serif"?
Yes.

I shot the serif.
I agree with the Carthaginian.
I just don't like change, but by tomorrow I won't care that they changed it.
They recently upgraded to Office/Outlook 2013 at work. It makes dealing with email terrible.

We just got Office 365 and it's integrated with our intranet (complete with half the links going to old intranet server and not Microsoft's sharepoint).
Down with the new!
It's one step from Comic Sans. Which is worse than Hitler.
I especially hate the G in browser tabs.

QuoteWe loved the old logo, and we loved what Google was. Whatever it's up to, whatever its intentions, Google should want to keep our love. So in the name of love, Google, give us back our serifs. Let this sans-serif building-block refrigerator-magnet silliness be the New Coke to your Coke, the Qwikster to your Netflix, the Freedom Tower to your One World Trade. Go back to your beautiful old serifs, and we'll be that much likelier to let your self-driving cars drive us around.

That's actually the part that really bothers me.
