I've been watching Frasier lately which does make me feel like a guilty old man. :D
My current is Empire.
What's so guilt-worthy about smart, funny sitcoms?
My guilty pleasures would be Suits, and to a lesser extent, Dude, You're Screwed.
Guilty pleasure is such a weird concept to me. I like what I like, I feel no guilt or shame in it.

Compared to Big Bang Theory, New Girl, 2 Broke Girls, the last couple seasons of Parks and Rec, Two and a Half Men, etc? Yes. It's also won quite a few Emmys.
Watching Food Network naked.
Not that it would surprise any of you, but I love going back and watching the old sitcoms. :P I plowed through The Mary Tyler Moore Show not too long ago. Fuck, that was a great show. The old Bob Newhart--the first one--was great as well.
Just started Taxi, as I haven't seen those episodes in ages.
The Glades, although dude seems to just arrest everyone in every episode before actually catching the badguy so that's weird.
E: Oh and The Blacklist because James Spader is awesome.
I was about to say Too Cute! Puppies but it isn't really guilty.

Yeah, but those shows were critically acclaimed at the time, so I don't think they'd qualify as guilty pleasures. A guilty pleasure would be more along the lines of
The Beverly Hillbillies,
Hogan's Heroes,
Welcome Back, Kotter, maybe
WKRP in Cincinnati.

No, a guilty pleasure would probably be closer to something that one would not be expected to enjoy and runs contrary to type, such as Macho Man 11Bravo Savage enjoying a show about suburban fags.
I just felt like tossing in a comment about old sitcoms, because I won't play your POST MUST EQUAL INTENT OF THREAD reindeer games.

No, as Ed would totally be expected to enjoy BJ & The Bear. And Sheriff Lobo.
I wouldn't call Modern Family a "guilty pleasure". It's a comedy show and one that is very well done. It has consistently won Emmys.
To me, a "guilty pleasure" show is something that you recognise to be sub-standard in some aspects of it, and generally kitschy/bad/sucky but you enjoy it anyway.
My guilty pleasure shows would be "Glee", "Once Upon the Time", "Galavant" (although, it deliberately tries to be so out of it, it may actually not count as a "guilty pleasure"), "True Blood", and "Reign" (although I stopped watching the last one, as the "kitsch" part was too strong).

Some of the shows you mention dont even fit your definition, so I call it a wash.
I'm also a bit surprised to see stuff like Frasier or Modern Family listed as "guilty pleasures." I always thought the term applied to things that were generally not well regarded (or for which you aren't the target audience) that you enjoy nevertheless.
Clone Wars would be a guilty pleasure of mine (and so will be Rebels once I start watching it). Or the occasional binge watching of pro wrestling. Or Married With Children (which has aged pretty badly).

Which ones? Except for Galavant, each suffers from bad writing, bad acting and, in OUtT's case, low production value. All are also corny as fuck. Glee has been going back and forth between inane comedy (where people behave unrealistically and do things for which people in normal world would be jailed) and serious show tackling The Issues (tm). Once Upon the Time, True Blood and Reign are soap operas. Reign makes The Tudors look positively like a History channel documentary.

I dont think I'm the target audience of Fraiser and Modern Family. Now, The Shield or The Wire, two shows I can't stand, would be aimed at me.
IMO, for Marty to list Glee, Galavant, and True Blood as a guilty pleasure under your definition would not fit. Those shows IMO target certain gays and/or teenage girls, so they fit well with Marty.
I don't think it's about target audience, but more about objective quality of the show. In fact, it's actually the target audience for whom the show is usually a guilty pleasure, despite it being a bad show overall.

Do you honestly think, if I started talking about Glee (for example) at "my" work, what sort of ribbing and shenanigans would abound.
What does it have to do with a concept of guilty pleasure? Me starting talking about liking Glee would cause ribbing too (assuming people even knew what it was), no matter that I'm out at work.
Hell, my boyfriend makes fun of me for that. This is what a "guilty pleasure" means.
It's Once Upon
a Time, Marty.
A show can be a "guilty pleasure" for a lot of reasons and I don't think you necessarily need to be embarrassed to admit watching it.
QuoteI dont think I'm the target audience of Fraiser and Modern Family.

Well, the thing is for years the camera people were brought from outside of state, what has changed in last two years was the restructuring of the tax incentive that made it more appealing to hire locals. If they kill the credit like it was being discussed can't say if it will stay the same climate, and really I don't want to stay in Reality TV, I'd rather get back to Features and without the credit, that work will cease to exist here, just like it is leaving North Carolina. Presuming a "guilty pleasure" show is one that you enjoy, but would be remiss/embarrassed to admit...for me that is easily a Canadian show from not long ago, called "Being Erica". The show is silly, girly, but has some wisdom in it also.
It helps that the leading actress has been easily #1 on my "unrealistic-celebrity-fantasy-crush" list for years now, and probably won't be toppled.
