Oh gosh, he really doesn't play around does he: http://cluborlov.blogspot.fi/2014/10/putin-to-western-elites-play-time-is.html
Curious how this significant speech - the linked blog compares it the Churchill's "Iron Curtain" speech of 1946 - has gotten so little coverage in the West.
QuoteIn this speech, Putin abruptly changed the rules of the game. Previously, the game of international politics was played as follows: politicians made public pronouncements, for the sake of maintaining a pleasant fiction of national sovereignty, but they were strictly for show and had nothing to do with the substance of international politics; in the meantime, they engaged in secret back-room negotiations, in which the actual deals were hammered out. Previously, Putin tried to play this game, expecting only that Russia be treated as an equal. But these hopes have been dashed, and at this conference he declared the game to be over, explicitly violating Western taboo by speaking directly to the people over the heads of elite clans and political leaders.
A watershed moment in history indeed.
Can someone write up the cliff notes? And can someone else write up the cliff notes for the cliff notes?
Lol. If he really believes that then let him come. NATO will wreck him.

Some papers here covered it - briefly - under "Putin blames destabilization of the world on U.S." or "Putin blames U.S. for all evil" (depending on the general hysteria level of the paper), and "Putin accuses U.S. of wanting to reshape the world in her image."
It is just so insane there really is nothing to say.
Did he keep his shirt on? Then I don't care.

Why should we give a shit about his grandstanding?
Damn that Western taboo about speaking to people directly! Damn damn damn!
The speech is probably also "retaliation" for the U.S. speech at the UN when Russia was listed as one of the three great evils in the world at the moment (with IS and Ebola).

Exactly what I thought. Who is the idiot blogger quoted in the OP, by the way?
Edit: Apparently his name is Dmitry Orlov. A stupid Russkie shit praising Putin. Film at 11.
By the way, is this what Languish has come to now? We post idiot articles to make fun of? First Habbaku posts about the "racial jihad" and now this.

You could post some more threads instead.

So should NK and Iran feel relieved or insulted for having been demoted from the list? :hmm:

QuoteWe will never play by US rules – State Duma chief
The State Duma speaker believes the US want to stop mutual dialogue between Russia and Europe, but this will not happen as Russia will keep looking for every opportunity to mend ties with its neighbors.
Russia's top parliamentarian said in an interview with the popular daily, Komsomolskaya Pravda, that proper political work required constant contact not only with allies but also with opponents.
"This is important and those who wish us harm, first of all certain representatives of the United States, would like to deprive us, themselves and Europe an equal dialogue on key urgent questions," Naryshkin told the newspaper.
"Let us not play by their rules, not do what they are pressing for. If we help them in this it would be a big present to the 'hawks.' On the contrary, we will seek for every opportunity to hold a dialogue so that everyone can hear our position," the Duma speaker added.
In September, Naryshkin told fellow lawmakers in a parliamentary speech that recent steps taken by the United States and its allies were "cynical and irresponsible" and could result in a renewal of the Cold War.
Naryshkin also noted in his speech that the chaos in the center of Europe has not cooled the belligerent moods of those who provoked it six months ago. He highlighted the recent NATO summit as one of the factors ratcheting up tensions.
At the same time, Naryshkin said the situation would unmask misdeeds and the real truth would be shown to ordinary European citizens. "We see that many citizens of European nations, who are practically living under an information blockade, have started to inconveniently question their national authorities."
In April this year, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe approved an anti-Russian resolution over the political crisis in Ukraine, depriving the Russian delegation of the right to vote and banning it from participation in PACE's ruling bodies and monitoring missions till the end of the year.
In reply, the State Duma made a statement claiming nations who repeatedly violated international law, causing thousands of casualties, have no moral right to judge Russia or impose sanctions on it. Russian MPs also stated that they consider it impossible to resume dialogue at PACE while sanctions against Russia are still in force.

Crush Russia? It'd be a bigger version of Desert Storm where the invaders are destroyed along with units near the border. There's going to be no deep offensives into Russia to topple the regime.

http://rt.com/news/russia-test-fire-icbm-825/
QuoteThe Russian military has successfully performed a scheduled test launch of the RS-12M Topol intercontinental ballistic missile, the country's Defense Ministry said.
The launch of the intercontinental three-stage ballistic missile (ICBM) was carried out from Kapustin Yar testing ground in the Astrakhan region. The dummy warhead hit its target at a test ground in Kazakhstan, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Yegorov told RIA Novosti.
"The aim was to test an advanced battle equipment for the intercontinental ballistic missiles," the ministry stated.
Russia informed the United States ahead of the ICBM test - and even before the latest Russian military moves in Crimea - a US official told Reuters.
The White House confirmed that the launch was "routine" and that the United States had advanced notice. Such prior notification is required under the nuclear arms treaty between the two nations.
Since 2007, Topol has been repeatedly tested in order to allow for the extension of its current service life, which was recently extended to 25 years. Its initial service life was only 10 years.
In 1998, RS-12M Topol became the first Soviet mobile ICBM to be successfully entered into service.
Defense Ministry stressed that Kapustin Yar range is "a unique" facility for testing battle equipment for intercontinental ballistic missiles.
"Only it provided the test routes and the polygon measuring complex, which allows testing [of] advanced battle equipment capable of bypassing the anti-missile systems, including those with advanced configuration," the ministry said.
