Wish in one hand, shit in the other. See which fills up first.
Great, now I've got several handfuls of excess wishes. <_<
The whole http://www.thesurvivor2299.com/ website thing is interesting. There is no evidence that it is a Bethesda-affiliated site except negative evidence: it uses the Bethesda-licensed Fallout logo without Bethesda complaining.
A quick search regarding Fallout 3's Oscar Zulu station (the "OZ" referred to in the Morse code message) confirms that it is the station where the father was asking for help in saving his sick son. If you investigated the site, you discovered the remains of two adults (presumably the parents) but no sign of the kid. The player is left with the impression that the kid was saved, but not the parents.
By the time of Fallout New Vegas (2281), the kid would still be too young to be a factor, but given that BethSoft has moved the timeframe forward with the second game, we can accept that they may do so again in Fallout 4, and so the kid could be old enough to play a role. Maybe as an NPC, or maybe just in a web comic or graphic novel used to help build publicity, like the character Chance in the graphic novel they did for FONV. Since the sex of the kid is established in FO3, it isn't likely that the kid would grow up to be the PC of fallout 4.
All of this assumes that the site is really controlled by Bethesda. If it is a troll, it is a good one.
I thought that all the radio stations in Fallout 3 were supposed to be pre-war. I agree that if it's a troll it's a good one though. It certainly looks like a marketing thing. Hopefully it is.
Bethesda have registered Fallout 4 as trademark in Europe.

Honestly, I would prefer for a new post apocalypitic RPG game instead of using the old Fallout mythology, but that isn't likely to happen so I'll be happy with with Fallout 4.

Unfortunately, this doesn't tell us anything, really. We knew that there would be a fallout 4, and there is no practical limit to the time Bethesda can hold this trademark before making the game. What it may tell us is that Bethesda is close to announcing the game.

There's that 'The Last of Us' game, but it's for consoles only I think.
As much as I like the Fallout games, the 'fantasy' stuff in them like the giant scorpions and the super mutants do annoy me.

Well, Wasteland 2 is in the works.

Retrofuture is the entire point of the games.

I'd like something that isn't made in Russia as well. I mean, any game that takes place is Russia is post-societal collapse by default.

The Last of Us seems to have some outstanding reviews.
Whatever they do, I would like to see a revamping of the Hardcore mode. Still way too much carring capacity.
I liked the Hardcore, and the attention paid to the quests and world building that New Vegas had over Fallout 3. Hopefully they follow in that vein. I'd also like to see better AI. It was obvious they just used the AI from Oblivion. That's okay when everyone is armed with swords and bows, but when you have guns it would be nice if the AI had different strategies then "Stand there and Shoot", or "Run directly at the player".
I do remember an oblique reference from some Bethesda on how much fun the gambling was in Fallout: New Vegas. Hopefully they looked at New Vegas and put in what made that a game great into Fallout 4.

Ditto. I made my peace with it, but it came close to destroying the game for me when I first started playing Fallout 3.
Did you even play FO 1 & 2?

It's a game set in the aftermath of WWIII taking place in the 1950s. Of course it's going to be fantasy.
I found the Fallout setting, complete with 1950s era sci-fi B movie concepts like giant irradiated scorpions, to be more entertaining than a generic and realistic post-apocalyptic setting.

Yeah, I think some people just didn't understand what the games were trying to do. They were not at all intended to be "realistic." I can understand people being tired of the joke, but don't suffer from that, myself.

No.
You should. They can be had for pretty cheap.
I actually have them. Just never felt compelled enough to play them. No way they'd be as immersive as Fallout 3 & NV are.

I get that. I'd just prefer some of the fantasy monsters dialed back a little.
The fantasy monsters work okay for Fallout. In the original game, it was sort of a riff on traditional fantasy games. There were knights, a Thieves guild, a sinister cult, beast men forgotten ruins and an ancient evil. But instead of traditional fantasy setting there it was post-nuclear California.
Fake.

Some would spend that in a heartbeat to prank people & get some notoriety.
Meanwhile for lunch, he's got a choice of chicken or shrimp Ramen.
Apparently he said his next step was to put together a cgi trailer, so unclear to me if this guy actually has pockets as deep as he states.
Or is it?

I have no doubt Bethseda is working on it.
