Just curious. You can count new/theatrical run movies released in your area as VODs, I suppose, since the pricing isn't terribly different and the principle is the same, and stuff like Rifftrax Live and other events I think should count as well just because you're literally there in a theater.
It's obviously 20+ for me (43 so far this year, iirc). But I get the feeling most of you go far less often, not even in the 10-19 category, probably averaging 5-9. :hmm:
I'm probably in the 10-19 category.
Damn Languish is low-brow. I thought this would be about real theater.
Actually I just crunched the numbers and if you count repeat views and the VODs and the Rifftrax Lives, it's 52.
I can't see the polls options on the mobile version, but I have been to many more high school drama productions than movies in the last 5 years. I can't remember the last time I went to s movie theater.
Btw it was my daughter before you all get creepy.

[Siegebreaker joke]
Maybe once or twice a year, if that.
I hate people with children, groups of teenagers, people who talk loudly on cell phones, couples with their PDAs and most other humans in groups in general, so why go where they all form up and co-mingle in one giant herd?

There's still a Siegebreaker joke to be made somewhere.
Zero or maybe one a year. The principle is not the same. I can order a movie on my Kindle without leaving my house. Or even my bed.
I thought this was going to be about THeatre. :(

If it's new, the principle is the same. You think I hang out with scumbags at my local megaplex or something?
I see lots of movies, but very few in the theater. Haven't been to a play since my drama class made me.

I don't like going outside. I also don't want to go to the movies alone.
1-4 for me. I think in 2013 the total is 2 - Into Darkness and Planes. My wife really enjoys going out to the movies though, so it was a pretty good go-to date night before we had kids.
Two movies, and they were what was surely the worst Star Trek feature of past, present, or future, and a movie about planes that doesn't even feature area bombing. :(

Star Trek V.
Star Trek: Nemesis
Nemesis ain't good, but it's not only better than Star Trek Into Darkness, it's marginally better than Insurrection.
Final Frontier is an okay movie, but I can't really effectively judge the quality Star Trek against films outside the franchise. In any event, it is better then Into Darkness, simply by dint of being an actual film.
I seem to watch most new movies in airplanes, not in movie theaters...
Almost never. Last time I was in a theater was Star Trek: Teh Reboot.
Can't seem to get off my ass for Gravity either.

"For [United 93], choose channel 1. For [Flight], choose channel 2. For [Millennium], choose channel 3. For [The Giant Claw], choose channel 4. [Airport] was too obvious for this joke."

More movie for me.
The obvious reference would have been Up in the Air, Ide. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1193138/
Does it crash?
I'm at 15 so far but have 4 more plan to see in next two weeks not to mention the ones coming out holiday season.
Used to be over 20. Now far fewer, probably around 10-12.
Last movie I saw in the theater was the Star Trek remake, just like Yi.
Next poll idea: does having children suck?
I see something in the neighborhood of 5-9 movies a year in the theater. Probably won't see another one this year till the Ron Burgundy sequel comes out.

To take to the movies? Sometimes.
Hell is other people's children.
So no one watches the live Jaron sex show?
I don't think the Prophet would approve.

So did I.
Well, 5-9 movies, and 2 or 3 stage plays.
Sure, that's what I'm known for, going to plays. -_-
Not that I dislike them. Just not my thing.

Then it would've been "theatre". Duh.
1 play, 0 movies. Guess nothing caught my interest this year.
More than 20 easily. Even if not in Paris, I still keep the Cinémathèque Pass so I do most of my screenings in arthouses which means no rowdy crowds and better movies.

Rumor has it parts of it are pre-recorded.
I've not seen anything not directed by Peter Jackson in a theater since Episode I came out. I've seen all the LOTR and the Hobbit, but that's it. Why endure other people when I can wait until later and see it on Netflix/HBO/PPV/DVD? Meh.

In front of a live studio audience?
Very few. $20 to see a movie on a nicer screen but surrounded by strangers a month or two before it will be available much cheaper to watch at home? No thanks.
