QuoteTAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano is running out of time to save his job.
Forget about the drama with former Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman. Put aside the MRSA outbreak at the team's facility. Ignore the dispute he had with former Bucs Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson.
Just examine the results after Tampa Bay's 31-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Thursday:
• Schiano's overall coaching record in Tampa Bay is 7-16.
• He currently has one more loss than former Bucs coach Raheem Morris had after his first 23 games, and Schiano was given more talent.
• Tampa Bay was expected to compete for a playoff spot, but the Bucs are now 0-7. The last time Tampa Bay began 0-7 was the 2009 season under Morris.
• Schiano has one win in Tampa Bay's past 13 games.

Only Kosar jerseys will appease the Seedy God.
They've got a customize option so you can get any name and number.
Do they do like MLB and restrict certain names with numbers? :hmm:
The NFL does, yeah. No "Mexico" Falcons jerseys, for example.
E: anymore, at least. There was a window there where you could get yourself one of those if you were so inclined.
Of course if you can always buy a nameless jersey and have the name sewn on by one of thousands of places willing to do it.

Eh, if I was gonna get a Browns jersey it'd be either a Jim Brown jersey or a Brian Sipe jersey.
Well.....now the national sports world feels the pain of Bucs fans. Its way worse than the 76 Bucs because this team HAS players that know how to actually play the game. It has yet to be proven that the people on the field are not actually twins of the real players that don't know how to play the game ala tiki and ronde though. I did like the hazmat suits just as a nice touch to show off how sickening the season is, or because of that wacky staph infection thingy eitheror. gah.....just start firing people so at least rumors :secret: of who will be hired give a degree of hope.
Seedy's Week 7 thread title had me wondering how many NFL teams actually have fight songs (by which I mean retro college-style fight songs, not something some local rapper came up with in 2011). And I mean fight songs that are actually used. There are a handful I can think of-- Bears, Packers, Bengals, Redskins, Browns. The old Colts had one, but I'm guessing it's not used now.
Which is best? For me, the more out of date and cheesy, the better. With the Oilers no longer the Oilers, I'd probably vote for "Bear Down Chicago Bears". Bengals fight song is sufficiently cheesy, but there's just not enough to it.

QuoteJoe Montana: City wasted opportunity
Updated: October 26, 2013, 10:19 AM ET
By Bill Williamson | ESPN.com
LONDON -- Joe Montana, perhaps the most iconic sports figure in the city of San Francisco's rich history, took the city's former leaders to task Saturday for not finding a way to keep the franchise.
The 49ers are in their final season at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. They are moving to Santa Clara -- where the team's headquarters is and was when Montana played -- which is about 40 miles south of San Francisco.
The team will remain named the San Francisco 49ers.
At a forum for European NFL fans, Montana, who won four Super Bowls as the 49ers' brilliant quarterback, was asked his thoughts of the team leaving San Francisco. He said the former decision makers in San Francisco "made a terrible effort" to keep the team in the city.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer said he thought the city wasted an opportunity to build a sports mecca downtown. Major League Baseball's Giants are thriving downtown and the Golden State Warriors are moving into a downtown arena.
Still, Montana said he is excited about the new state-of-the-art stadium in Santa Clara and said "it's not like they went to Oakland."
Montana is also pleased that the team is leaving Candlestick Park. He said when he is asked what the worst venue he ever played it was, he sadly had to answer that it was his own home field. He said the field was always wet and referred to its old nickname, "The Quagmire."
The relaxed and humorous Montana was also asked by a fan about his working relationship with his backup Steve Young.
"You ever had anybody try to take your job?" Montana cheerfully responded to the fan. "It was my job to make sure he stayed behind me."

Dolphins DC is a friend of mine. He was the Bengals defensive backs coach until last year. COYLE, YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD-- I READ YOUR BOOK
But yeah his defense actually read our book last year :(
Anyway, fun-ass day at the stadium. Nice, rare treat when your offense scores the winning TD on its second possession, your defense outscores the other team, your third WR breaks a team record for TD receptions in a game, and it happens to be the Jets on the other side of the field. In the 3rd quarter, Pacman Jones was jawing with Rex Ryan between plays :D

QuoteBeanie Wells, working out for Baltimore Ravens, blows out his Achilles tendon
By Eric Edholm
Shutdown Corner
Beanie Wells is an NFL free agent looking for work. He had a team, the Baltimore Ravens, that sought some running back depth, and it appeared that the two sides were heading toward a contract offer.
That is, until Wells reportedly tore his Achilles tendon during the workout. The star-crossed former first-round pick suffered the injury while working out for the Ravens last week, according to the Baltimore Sun, and will be out for the remainder of the season.
Players occasionally will re-aggravate preexisting injuries during workouts for teams, but suffering such a serious ailment is extremely rare in the non-contact drills.
Wells' career hasn't panned out as expected after being the 31st pick in the draft by the Arizona Cardinals in 2009 after the team had just lost the Super Bowl. The former Ohio State star struggled with consistency his first few seasons before breaking out in 2011, with a 1,047-yard, 10-TD season that included a Cardinals-record 228 rushing yards in a game against the Rams.
Although Wells won't turn 26 until next August, he has been beset by fumbles (10 career on 653 touches) and injuries, including a chronic knee problem and a toe ailment that landed him on injured reserve for a chunk of the 2012 season. The Cardinals waived him in March.
The Ravens instead turned to ex-Bengal Bernard Scott, whom they signed Monday morning instead of Wells. The team's top two backs, Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce, have been banged up much of the season.
Now we must wonder if Wells' career ever will get back on track. What a brutal blow, and a sign of just how cruel this game can be at times.
Well, an ugly win is still a win. Seemed like the Seahawks didn't adjust very well to the pressure, which is somewhat surprising, since the O-line has been at least this banged up for weeks.

He got arrested after he left the NFL, so it isn't like that was a magic cure-all. Also, he's still hanging around with his old crew, he's got firearms he likes to use often, he's back in school, but it doesn't seem to be overly serious, and I wouldn't say he admitted shit other than that he fucked up. I don't see any degree of sorrow or remorse over his actions. I hope he does turn it around, I just don't see enough legitimate signs from that article.
