Maybe Eli and Peyton always have to maintain some sort of equilibrium, so that the better Peyton plays, the worse Eli plays.  :hmm:

Gints trailing by 6, 2 minutes to play, interception.

Very cool stat that Bears have not given up a 4th quarter TD this season.

Coughlin's toast.  Not just his job, but him.  He looks old, fatigued and flat-out burned out.  This season is not good for his health.

Onion Sports' NFL Week Six Picks (http://www.theonion.com/articles/onion-sports-nfl-week-six-picks,34194/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=LinkPreview:1:Default&recirc=tough-season)

QuoteOSN shares its expert analysis on the teams that will come away with victory in this weekend's NFL week six games:

Giants at Bears

OSN's Lock Of The Week: Bears
– Eli Manning will throw three picks and Jay Cutler will find Brandon Marshall in the end zone twice in this 27-21 Bears win, but none of that will matter once Tom Coughlin finally notices that oddly colored mole underneath his left arm in the shower Friday morning.

Bengals at Bills

OSN's Pick: Bengals
– Look for the Cincinnati defense to confuse Thad Lewis with relentless questions about who he is and how he ended up as the Bills quarterback.

Lions at Browns

OSN's Pick: Lions
– This game will go to the team that wants it more that is not the Browns.

Raiders at Chiefs

OSN's Pick: Chiefs
– The Chiefs have the NFL's best red zone defense, but that won't play any factor against the Raiders.

Panthers at Vikings

OSN's Pick: Panthers
– Don't look now, but the Panthers are quietly putting together an unremarkable season.

Steelers at Jets

OSN's Pick: Jets
– A loss against the Jets will finally provide a much-needed fifth wake-up call for the Steelers.

Eagles at Buccaneers

OSN's Pick: Eagles
– Expect Josh Freeman to continue leading the team in passing touchdowns this season.

Packers at Ravens

OSN's Pick: Packers
– The Ravens have been without star quarterback 2012 Joe Flacco and will continue to struggle under 2008-2011 Joe Flacco.

Rams at Texans

OSN's Pick: Texans
– The Rams will really come together as a team to get Matt Schaub's confidence back up.

Jaguars at Broncos

OSN's Pick: Broncos
– Jacksonville will struggle with the thin mountain air, grass field, and challenging game of football.

Titans at Seahawks

OSN's Pick: Seahawks
– Expect Seattle to establish their running-up-the-score game early on.

Saints At Patriots

OSN's Pick: Saints
– An offensive showdown that will likely come down to who has the ball 89th.

49ers at Cardinals

OSN's Pick: 49ers
– A win for the 49ers will go a long way toward distinguishing the teams in a division that's currently an impressionistic blur when we look at it.

Redskins at Cowboys

OSN's Pick: Cowboys
– The Redskins are coming off a bye week, so the team might need a quarter or so to get back out of sync.

Colts at Chargers

OSN's Pick: Colts
– San Diego will need to jump out to an early lead if they expect to lose another close game.

QuoteThe 2-year-old son of Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has died.

Police in South Dakota confirmed to Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the 2-year-old boy died, days after he was allegedly beaten by his mother's boyfriend.
Robert Joseph Patterson was arrested on charges of aggravated battery of an infant and aggravated assault, and the state's attorney is now reviewing the matter for possible additional charges.

The names of the boy and his mother are being withheld, at the family's request. Peterson briefly addressed reporters today and asked for privacy for his family.

Peterson, the NFL's reigning Most Valuable Player, plans to play on Sunday

I think opposing defenses have found Rodgers tick.  It's not a mean rush, its tall lineman that always have their hands up.  Three weeks in a row I keep hearing about defensive lineman always having their hands up and it seems that Rodgers is waaaaay more flustered in the pocket.

As in, even the season he was sacked nearly 70 times he didn't look this flustered in the pocket on a continual basis.

Terrible line play,

You notice how, despite a new center, the line is the same from last year other than Eugene Monroe (who is a tremendous upgrade over McKinnie) starting today?  You know what's changed?  Castillas coming over from Philly as the new OL coach.

Tell me:  if he couldn't get Philly to run successfully when he was OL coach, what makes you think he can do it here?  I'm really thinking that he's part of the problem.  I mean, a new center's going to have his problems calling the blitzes, but these guys can't protect the QB, can't make holes like they did last year, and stupid ass penalties.  And it doesn't help with things like back-to-back false starts from Yanda and Ose in the 3rd quarter.

Just messy, lackadaisical and subpar O line performances all season long.  Week 1 or 2, I can understand...but this is Week 6.  Something is really wrong.

You missed the "lecture" but are pissed of anyway.   the parts I heard were perfectly reasonable.

I caught it this morning.  But Costas was a self-righteous prick before the lecture, FWIW.

Probably since his gun control rant, right?

Don't let a sportscaster get in the way of derspiess' constitutional right to maintain a well-regulated school massacre, man.

He's a Cardinals fan and if he sticks to sports with minimal commentary, I like him.  Kind of like with Olbermann, though he doesn't quite have Keith's baseball knowledge.

I don't know why sports guys think they can comment on politics.  I mean think how obnoxious it would be to have some political experts drop in and call a football game?

QuoteJets Fan Punched Woman In Face During Fight WIth Patriots Fans At MetLife Stadium (VIDEO)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/21/jets-fan-punches-woman-patriots-fight_n_4134227.html?utm_hp_ref=mostpopular

The rivalry between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots spilled off the field in an ugly scene at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. Following New York's 30-27 win over New England, a man sporting Jets apparel appeared to punch a woman sporting Patriots colors in the face during an altercation captured in a video first obtained by Deadspin.

Although there is no sign of stadium security or police in the brief video filmed as fans exited the stadium, a team spokesman told the New York Daily News that the incident didn't go unnoticed.

"We are aware of the situation and we do not tolerate that behavior," the unnamed Jets spokesman told the News. "Parties involved were detained and this matter is now in the hands of the New Jersey State Police."

Count at least one Jets fan among those hoping the guy who threw the punch -- while wearing a No. 80 Wayne Chrebet jersey -- is held accountable.

[H/T Deadspin]

UPDATE 6:50 p.m. ET 10/21: The New York Daily News identified the man who appeared to throw the punch caught on tape as Kurt Paschke. The News interviewed Paschke's mother, Colleen, who claimed her son was only attempting to protect her from aggressive Patriots fans.

"He's the victim, really," Colleen told The Daily News on Monday at her home on Long Island. "He was just concerned for his mother and himself."

Quite frankly, after reviewing the video, I have to agree that Psycho Jets fan was defending himself from Patriots Bitch 1 and Patriots Bitch 2, who approached him in an aggressive manner as he attempted to retreat from the confrontation, and that Patriots Bitch deserved catching the knuckle sammich right in her Timmay Brady-asslicking choppers.

QuoteUPDATE 11:09 p.m. EST 10/21: As reported by the New York Post and New York Daily News, Kurt Paschke, 38, spent time in prison for the fatal stabbing of a teen during an altercation in 1992.

"I am deeply sorry," Paschke said at his sentencing for the knifing in 1995, per the Post. "I can honestly say I never sought the confrontation, but when it came, I did what I had to do."

You certainly did, Kurt.  You certainly did.
