It's 4.5 to 5 hours depending on traffic/construction. To drive that long & still be in Ohio feels a bit odd. My brother is pressuring me to make the trip, not so much because he needs the help, but because he wants to go to Great Lakes Brewery.

I wonder. That's an interesting line, but Houston will be at home. The only away game Seattle has played this year was a close, low-scoring one against the lowly Panthers. :hmm:
Yeah, you're probably right.
i was looking at that line as well. On the one hand all the touts are nuts about Seattle this year. On the other, they're a read option offense.
I wouldn't touch it. It's the Seahawks on the road, and at 1pm. Could be a big-time trap game, particularly with Houston on the rebound at home.
The Legion of Boom will put Schaub under the most pressure he's had thus far into the season.
Well, they do need to feed Beast Mode. 45 points, and nothing but 79 yards. Disgusting.
Sweet Jebus i don't even know half these guys starting on D for Niners tonight
That was a superhuman catch by Boldin.
This has been one goofy ass game.
Yep. Poor Bradford. It's possible that he's not really that good.

Between the lack of protection and the drops, it's easy to see why he has no career.
For a while I thought he was going to be The Next Great Thing when he came out of college.
Could've been, had he been drafted by another team. At least Stafford has Megatron.

Niners and Jags(??) in couple of weeks.
Is this the first year they're playing two there?
Didn't the Jags play there just recently? Then again, I suppose Jacksonville doesn't mind giving up a home game every year.
Bad news for the Texans: Andre Johnson didn't practice on Thursday.
Good news: Duane Brown did, although it was limited. It'd be great if the best OL on the team only missed one game with the ankle injury.

Hmmm. I guess they decided to spend less after it sold out. It should at least be an exciting game, since both those teams have a propensity to fuck up in spectacular ways. Not like last year, where they forced you to watch the Patriots machine steamroll over the hapless Rams.
I had a very vivid dream last night. The Ravens won the AFC Championship game this year over the Bengals, 19-14. At some point late in the game, the Bengals will stuff the Ray Rice running on the right side on a 4th and goal from the 1, but the Ravens will triumph.
Either that or it was just a dream.

I can appreciate the NFL trying to reach out to Europe--which they've tried for decades to do--but I really wish they would stop scheduling games over there, particularly during the season.
Preseason, no big deal...but the players hate it, it wrecks practice schedules and athletes' body clocks, and they really don't want us over there anyway.

Tough loss to have Wilfork out for the season. Patriots are looking better, strong running game, but still have a wayz to go in their passing game. Getting better though as the new receivers learn and they and Brady get more in synch. But that's contrasted with Peyton Manning with a powerhouse passing game that looks like the Patriots offense of last year which was dominant.

Dayum, coach.
QuoteJohn Harbaugh calls out Ravens' O-line, Ed Dickson
NFL fans saw Joe Flacco throwing the Baltimore Ravens' Week 4 hopes away with five interceptions in a 23-20 loss at Buffalo on Sunday.
As we pointed out on the "Around The League Podcast" Sunday recap, though, the roots of the Ravens' problems lie hidden beneath the surface in the form of an ineffective offense line and unreliable pass catchers.
An ornery coach John Harbaugh took aim at both groups Monday, pulling no punches in his assessment of the offense's slow start.
"The whole O-line is disappointing right now," Harbaugh said, pointing out that it hasn't been a smooth transition exactly from Matt Birk to Gino Gradkowski making calls from the center position.
Offensive tackles Bryant McKinnie and Michael Oher have struggled to open running lanes, while Gradkowski and left guard Kelechi Osemele have allowed too much pressure on the interior.
With Dennis Pitta sidelined, a drop-prone Ed Dickson took the brunt of Harbaugh's ire at the pass-catching woes of the Ravens' tight ends.
"The stats kind of speak for themselves. He's not the same player right now that he was (when he caught 54 passes in 2011)," Harbaugh added. "If he has a confidence problem, that's on him. Ed needs to catch the ball. If he's thinking about anything besides that, he's doing himself a disservice. You got that kind of talent and those kind of gifts, go play ball."
While Pitta's injury and the inability to replace Anquan Boldin have left the Ravens undermanned in the passing attack, it's easy to identify with Harbaugh's frustration. The offensive line was a major asset during last year's Super Bowl run, and Dickson caught 54 passes just two years ago.
The Ravens might be frustrated because the offense is holding them back, but they're still in fine shape in a division that is up for grabs through the quarter-season mark.
"We're not the same team we were two months ago," Harbaugh explained, "and we won't be the same team two months from now."
Damnit. Dolphins were just getting some traction. Now they're putting more pressure on their D
That's pretty moderate. I know I would have had a hard time not referring to Ed Dickson as 'a bitch'
Shit!!! Oh, wait-- Sproles? Ka-ching!
 Man, I had seen short gifs of the guy eating popcorn at the Stanford game, but not the whole clip like that. What the hell is going on with that guy? Who pours popcorn (or whatever) all over their face like that?
E: This gif: (https://languish.org/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.gawkerassets.com%2Fimg%2F191mdv1de2x8pgif%2Fku-xlarge.gif&hash=099b9ae62104a74cb681dbd98268aad9dc6bdeed)
The video clip shows him looking back at the field with popcorn all over his face just being a disgusting slob.
Wrong thread.

You mean Stanford guy? He just won "C'mon Man!" on MNF.
E: Well he won it during halftime. The game has gotten significantly worse since then.

Poor frunk, he scored enough to beat 13 teams this week, just unlucky.

Kinda hard when even your so-called stars fucking suck. <_< GF is bitching about Spiller, I'd rather have him than Rice right now.
It was just a bad week, esse. Buck up, lil' camper.

You almost could have beaten me with just Brees and Indy's D. Damn. :(
It's not Rice's fault that he's playing behind a line that makes the Steelers guys look like superstars.

Don't despair-- you have a good shot at winning this week. My starting QB has a bye and my backup is knocked out for a few weeks. So my only option was picking up Fitzpatrick.

I just picked up, no shit, Blaine Gabbert for this week. I might be better off going with a blank. Meh Dinks, enjoy your win.

You must've gotten to him before I did. I initially picked up Henne after mis-reading that Gabbert was out with an injury (I guess that was a couple weeks ago). As bad as he is, Gabbert will be against the worst defense (in terms of giving up QB fantasy points) in the league. So there's hope for you.
So far this my best LFFL start ever. Better I think then the 1st year when I went to the Championship! :w00t:
We must collude to crush Tim.
I can get with that. Everybody out of contention trades their stars with the contender Week 14.

QuoteRavens acquire offensive tackle Eugene Monroe via trade from Jaguars
By Aaron Wilson The Baltimore Sun
9:47 p.m. EDT, October 1, 2013
The Ravens have acquired offensive tackle Eugene Monroe from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for multiple draft pick compensation, according to league sources.
A source said the Ravens will be sending third-day draft picks to the Jaguars for Monroe and that the basic framework of the deal is in place.
Monroe is scheduled to travel to Baltimore on Wednesday morning, according to a source, and must take and pass a physical for the trade to become official. The Ravens are currently at the 53-man roster limit, so they would have to make a roster move to create a spot for Monroe.
Monroe is "excited and upbeat" about the pending change of NFL employers after years of losing in Jacksonville, according to a source close to the Jaguars' starting left offensive tackle.
Monroe will likely be competing with Bryant McKinnie for a starting spot on the Ravens offensive line, assuming that McKinnie remains in the Ravens' plans going forward.
McKinnie was signed to a two-year contract worth $6.3 million including a $2 million signing bonus in May.
However, McKinnie reported to training camp overweight for the second year in a row and wasn't immediately cleared to practice. He has started every game this season but has not drawn much praise.
McKinnie confirmed Tuesday night that he's aware of the pending trade.
Monroe is under contract through this season with a base salary of $3.8 million this season after voiding the 2014 year of his original rookie deal, a $28.8 million contract that included $19 million in guaranteed money. The Ravens have just $1.213 million in salary-cap space under the NFL limit of $123 million as of Tuesday.
The Ravens rank 28th in rushing offense, averaging 64 yards per game. And quarterback Joe Flacco has been sacked a dozen times.
The motivation for Jaguars general manager David Caldwell would be to acquire all the draft pick ammunition he can get to try to upgrade the roster.
Monroe is a 6-foot-5, 306-pounder from the University of Virginia selected eighth overall by the Jaguars in the 2009 NFL draft.
In his fifth NFL season, Monroe has started every game this season. The Plainfield, N.J. native has started 62 career games.

QuoteHouston restaurant offers 'Matt Schaub' burger
You 'pick six' toppings and then 'pay dearly for it.'
By NATE SCOTT – October 1, 2013 at 9:38pm EDT
A Houston-area restaurant is offering a "Matt Schaub special" burger where customers can "pick six" toppings and then "pay dearly for it."
This is, of course, a reference to an interception Schaub threw to Richard Sherman in Sunday's game against the Seahawks, an interception that Sherman returned for a touchdown, allowing the Seahawks to claw back into the game and eventually win in overtime.
Or it could also be a reference to the fact that Schaub has thrown a pick-six in three straight games. Either/or, really.
Whatever the reference — this is cold, Houston. This is all kinds of cold.
Just got an alert that the bucs just released Josh Freeman
