Are you guys arguing that the ad wont work? Because negative ads almost always have some effect.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

No, I was stating that I dislike it and feel insulted.
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."

You shouldn't have called the good senator so soon after such an important vote then. -_-

The ad is an insult to the voter's intelligence(though it still may work).

Also, I'm sure it would have mentioned if the prostitute was male. This is Louisiana, after all.

BTW, the super important bill he skipped voting on? Passed 395-0.

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Heh, more stories about Carson's imagination.  Who knew that he wasn't just a moron, but also a compulsive liar?  Not a good couple of days for the equity of my bet with Yi.

Chum in the water?

I saw this via my uncle...

QuoteBen Carson said Saturday he's hauled in $3.5 million in campaign cash this week thanks to a "biased media."

The retired neurosurgeon and Republican presidential candidate claimed 10,000 donations each day of the week in a tweet.

"We the People have made 10,000 donations each day this week, raising $3.5M this week alone. Thank you biased media," he tweeted.

Last week, Carson tweeted that his campaign raised $10 million in October, notching its 800,000th donation on Nov. 1. And in the most recent fundraising quarter, he raised more money than any other GOP contender, taking in $20.8 million.

Saturday's fundraising figure — and media tweak — comes in the wake of reports about Carson's past.

Carson blasted the media scrutiny Friday night, telling reporters at a press conference in Florida that "there is a desperation on behalf of some to try to find ways to tarnish me because they've been looking through everything, they have been talking to everybody I've ever known, everybody I've ever seen."
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."

Don't you have Trump too?

Yeah, but it's better to have two bullets than one bullet.

I think at this point neither the Donald's or Uncle Ben's numbers are going to move much based on gaffes.

My bet has always been based on the assumption that "likely" Donald or Ben voters are not going to show up on caucus night.

I think The Donald is probably safe.  If his fortunes wilt, it would be because of a sentiment shift, not because of anything he does, say, or has something revealed about him.  It seems like he's coated in both teflon and asbestos.

Uncle Ben, on the other hand, has not really been vetted yet.  Many candidates have shot to the top of the polls, and then straight down and out of the race, when the crowds gather near their closets and the closet doors are opened wide.

Will that also happen to Rubio?

That story about him and his wife getting a lot of traffic tickets hasn't gotten traction yet, but if it does, he's as good as done.
