Excellent news.

QuoteAccording to our polls-only model, Clinton has a lead of at least 9 percentage points in states collectively worth 273 electoral votes, including New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Colorado, Michigan and Wisconsin. Ohio, Florida, Iowa, Nevada and North Carolinaare closer, by contrast.

Funny how the Clinton Foundation receiving cash from the Saudis is not news but this is.

The context is that Trump is saying things in the campaign that appear to outrageously favor the Russians (such as that he won't automatically support NATO, asking for Russian help to hack the State Department, etc.). As far as I'm aware, Clinton isn't saying things that outrageously favor the Saudis.

It has been in the news. It's also been public knowledge since at least 2008 and has come up pretty often in the last 8 years - how do you know about it if it wasn't in the news?

As to this, the clue is in the "new" bit of news. This wasn't known, it fits with existing queries over Trump's relationship with Putin and, given that Trump's former campaign chief was retweeting it last night, also has an interesting procedural aspect of campaign dysfunction.

If, say, Dick Morris or Carville were retweeting stories about Saudi money to the Clinton foundation then that would be a big story too.
Let's bomb Russia!

Yes yes our media is partisan and Democratic scandals only get reported by right-wing outlets and Republican scandals only get reported by Left-wing outlets. Thank you for this fresh and new 30 year old take on my country.

The Minsky Moment

I don't see the significance of the Manafort story.  What do payments he received five years ago have to do with the Donald Trump campaign in 2016?  If the point is to establish that Manafort is in the bag for Putin that is already very well established.

She asked her sample of CEOs a stupid question.  An investment that results in a drop in stock price is a bad investment.

It's not her survey.  Assuming it exists the premise is that the investment would surpass the company investment hurdle rate.  I.e it is assumed for the purposes of the survey that the investment is good, or at least that the CEO believes it is.

A good investment that lowers the share price?
