I've only just taken over my team, and it's playoffs (in which I don't participate), so I can't do much except look at my roster, hire new staff, planning trades for postseason and which minors to put on a track towards the majors ....

The people in the league seem to be pretty into it, but I have to see how it works when the season starts again. Most seem to set their 7 day rosters depending on their schedules.

I'm having a blast playing SWAT 4, sometimes literally. :D
The AI SWAT guys are sometimes pretty dumb, especially since they refuse to see or shoot through glass (but the player can), but then on the other hand sometimes they save your ass.

Also, I love the sound the shotgun makes. It makes me tingle all over every time I fire it.

pen and paper... as I'm still stuck on my 9 year old system.

After several meh stabs at modules, with my ever shrinking gaming group. (just two of us and DM lately) we found some kill the orcs war themed module that so far is pretty fun. Starting at 7th level. I'm playing a Ranger who is a sniper/scout with a human army who are at odds with the local orc population.

My Character's name is Smokey Darkwater. (Archery specialist.)

I started out with 2 2nd level privates under my Command (I'm a corporal who should likely be an officer with his own troop at this point, but I have um issues with authority figures, and keep punching out snot nosed rich kid first Louies who annoy me.) Their names are Ruby & Max. Oh and my animal companion's name is Fang, he's a wolf.

We opened the game by crawling on bellies trough some field, where we came upon an Ogre apparently getting ready to take a dump on our rogue/Quartermaster (the other PC) from the base. He was unconscious and bound under the squatting Ogre, who was monologuing quite a bit for an Ogre.

We surprised him, but he still managed to almost kill my wolf (due to my own incompetence (crappy rolls)) but eventually we got him, and freed the Quartermaster Lucius Vettius. It was some wheeling and dealing he got on the wrong side of that got him so compromised (think Richard Jaeckel in Catch 22)... anyhoo

We come to a bridge and instead of a troll there is a Dwarven knight maiden standing atop a pile of Orcs, the very orcs we are looking for, or at least some of them. Our scouting mission was to track a warband that had raided a local scriptorium for slaves, booty and whatnot. Turns out the Knight was raised at said scriptorium, and we persuaded her to join us on the trail of the scummy orcs who had raided her home.

Following the trail towards a ruined castle nearby, we came across a female army medic (cleric) running from a bigger troop of Orc grunts while carrying a screaming half-orc baby. We helped her by making short work of the grunts. We sent off Max and Ruby to take the baby to safety ( There goes that most recent promotion) and the Medic joined us in our assault.

What with orcs being my 1st and most favored ebnemy, I was ready to take some out, and it turned out that at the castle there were a great many orcs, as it was the Night of The Blood Moon festival. (Orcs had killed my family/clan as a child also on the night of the Blood Moon festival.)  we reconnoitered the castle, well the Vettius did so, invisibly...

we argued strategy for awhile and I hit upon the idea of using my hat of disguise to infiltrate pretending to be the lone survivor of the troop who'd went after the Cleric. I brought her in and bluffed my way to the throne room where we got some intel, and clues that there were indeed some slaves to be rescued.

Meanwhile the Dwarven knight strolled up to the main gate and challenged one and all to combat. While she was handling swarms of low level grunts we went around the castle killing wargs, gnolls, orcs and a wight who had turned some orcs who made the mistake of opening his crypt in the chapel.

The thing we kept forgetting to do was to interrogate or trick some dumb orc into revealing exactly where the slaves are. But we are continuing this week.

The session was a nice balance of role-playing parlay and killing bad guys. looking forward to this Friday's game.
:p

I'm trying out the Ironclads demo. I noticed the game is down to 10 bucks, which is the max I'll pay for a Russian made game.

There's now a demo for the next installment: Schleswig War, where you get to whack Danes as Prussian Navy. I'm not into Naval games, but I thought yu might like that. :P

Picked up MLB 2K10 from Steam for €19.99

I don't have a Playstation, so The Show is not available to me, and for that price I don't mind if the game is mediocre. Actually, my last arcade baseball game was on the SNES (Cal Ripken Jr. - awful game), so I'm not too picky. Game plays fine on laptop and with gamepad. Pitching controls are hard, and I'm still trying to figure out how the controls for base stealing work and how not to slide into every base when you run for more than one.

It's too bad EA lost the rights to the MLB games; their last MLB game ('05 I think) was one of the best baseball games I played and far superior to any of the 2K baseball games.  Sega did football better than Madden and EA did baseball better, figures the wrong company got the wrong franchises.

My Paranoia character got turned into toothpaste. Just because I couldn't play, he was denounced as a traitor and tossed into a vat.

I mowed down  a bunch of militant child-killing Scientologists last night. Was awesome.

Knowing how to play is treason.

I'm getting tired of playing COD4 & I was wondering if there is any other good FPS outthere?

Bad Company looks good but seems to never actually work and I find it a little expensive.

I will not buy or play MW2.

A new Russian game is out called Metro 2033.  Haven't played it.  I imagine it's a bit like Stalker.  Which is something I'm replaying at the moment.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I find playing Killing Floor cheap and Zen-like. It is nothing like those other games though.

Stalker pretty good?  Have it, never got around to playing it.

Yeah, it's pretty good.  Graphics are bit dated looking and some parts aren't translated but the game is fun.  Much slower paced then say Call of Duty.
