Okay, then why do bother arguing with me?  I mean if you are going to play the Berkut/Grumbler game where you dissect a post at least do it right.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I dont need to. You have made the ascertions and shown proof of nothing other than "Your" opinion.

I dont need to type a paragraph to counter baseless assertions.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a tree of life tattoo, but I can't decide where or how big to get it. My rule of thumb is that I have to want a particular design in the same place for two years before I get it. At any point that I change the design or the placement, the two years start over again. This one has been floating around for a while, but not where, so it's still very much just a thought right now.
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

Couple of my frat brothers got DU tats.

A decade in, I think that if I had gotte none, I wouldn't regret it.  But of course at this point it would seem a little silly to get one now.

What exactly am I suppose to prove?  I made an argument and gave examples, all you've done is make ad hominen attacks.  You've also managed to confuse " how has it enhanced your life" with "how has it unenhanced your life".  They aren't the same question.  You have never actually said why getting tattoo is a good idea.  You just said you like to.  You never said why.  Then you ask me to prove a negative.  I gave some reasons why people would get a tattoo, you said they were wrong, but didn't say why they were wrong.  I don't think you want to tell me why people get tattoos cause it would be admitting that it is essentially a fashion statement.

Your assertions

Quote
You've also managed to confuse " how has it enhanced your life" with "how has it enhanced your life".  They aren't the same question.

Do you mean unenhance? Because the two bolded are the same.

Quote
You have never actually said why getting tattoo is a good idea.

and I wont. It's an individual thing.

Quote
You just said you like to.  You never said why.

Where?
I dont need to say why.

Then you ask me to prove a negative.  I gave some reasons why people would get a tattoo, you said they were wrong, but didn't say why they were wrong.  I don't think you want to tell me why people get tattoos cause it would be admitting that it is essentially a fashion statement.

Tats have been around a long time. There's nothing to admit. People get them for different reasons.

Quote
What, your mother never told you that paying people hundreds of dollars to carve a "tribal" design into your skin wasn't a good investment?
Negative and baseless on your part.

Quote
Meth is a local business as well.  Now that I think of it, the two do go together pretty well.

Another neagtive by you. Attempting to equate people with tats and meth. How obtuse of you.

Also you are comparing a legit small business with illegal activity.

Quote
I wouldn't doubt that a larger portion of meth users have tats then does the general population.  It's symptomatic of poor decision making.

What is symptomatic of poor decision making?

Meth?
Tats?
Meth and Tats?

Quote
Tell me, how has that tribal tattoo enhanced your life?

Tell me how it as unenhanced my life? I never made a claim of enhancement or unenhancement for that matter. You seem to have a notion. Explain it.

QuoteNone.  I'm not that stupid.

Again negative. Stupid for??????

QuoteHow have they unenhanced your life?  I never actually made that claim, but I can take a stab at.  You spent several hundred dollars to pay a person to draw pictures under your skin for no discernible benefit.

Does there have to be a benefit? You are trying to equte what is a benefit or not a benefit to an individual.

Quote
Presumably this is a fashion statement of some kind.

Assumption by you.

Quote
A way to advertise some sort of achievement or your inclusion into some sort of group.  I can see why this would be a bad idea.

Again nope. What group.. Why a bad idea?

Quote
Fashions are transitory while tattoos are largely permanent.  Something that is cool today, may be absurd and silly tomorrow.

Sure they are. You say they are a fashion statement. Not me.

Quote
Even worse is the way words and images change meanings.  An word or phrase meant to indicate fierceness may develop a slang meaning in five year that means "I like it up the ass".

You cite this as an example....

Quote
For instance a man might earn the nickname "Bear", in the army because he is a large and formidable fighter and has the word transcribed on his skin. However, the word has also taken on a sexual connotation as there is increasing popular awareness of the gay culture use of the term.  This newer connotation may be highly undesirable for the former soldier  and he must either spend money to get it removed or tolerate many people assuming he is gay.

Forgot an option. Cover with another Tat.

Quote
Another example might be a guy who served in Arizona national guard in the 1920's.  The guy is proud of this and gets tattoo to commemorate this and includes the unit insignia in the design.  20 years later everyone who sees this tattoo makes an immediate judgment, and will usually respond negatively.  The Arizona national guard was part of the 45th infantry division the symbol of which was the was a swastika.

Then he either leaves it, covers it, removes it, or gets a cover tat. Again point??

I did? Where did I say your examples were wrong?  I said "ramblings" in regards to your paragraph.

You were WRONG in making your statement possessive towards me.

I have confused nothing. I make no claims of enhancement or unenhancement. I did not solicited from others, "How has it enhanced your life". Why would I? Why would I care? What's your point?

You seem to think that it needs to or should. Why?
