Anyway, I'm going for a Chick Lit book. Single woman about to hit 40 chases after her genealogical roots in Wales to "shake things up" in her life.

How Stella Got Her Groove Back by getting fucked by Christian Bale?  Sweet!

Meh. Not thinking romance at all. I'm not a big fan of those as the major storyline. There may be a romance that comes up, but it definitely won't be what the story is about. Actually, I have a bit of an idea of what happens to her when she gets to Wales, and it doesn't directly involve a man.
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

You're not gonna jump on that 50 Shades of Grey bandwaggon, then? :P

I'm going for space adventure/action/drama myself.

Time travel malarkey for me.

Tempting, always wanted to finish a novel, but I'm too much of a perfectionist and have too much other stuff I have to do in life.

No thanks, I write all day for pitiful pay, I'm not going to write all night too for none at all.

Will you (and/or your housemate) be available for advice for me, though? Pretty please? :)

Well, 1800 words during lunch today. :)

I really like this character. I'm going to enjoy writing about her.

So I'm a little confused that this thread is titled 2013 though it was really the 2012 thread.

At any rate, I finished day one this year with words to spare. I've added incentive this go-around as a friend from college has tossed her hat in the ring and now shit talking is spurring me on. -_-

It's odd, my dad was suggesting I start writing last week.  I pointed out that I could barely string two sentences together (as you all have seen), but he didn't seem to think that mattered.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

And damnit. Seedy, fix my typo in the title, will you? It's not 2013 yet.  :glare:

Whatever works.

I came up with a pretty neat idea for a story a few weeks ago and so decided to give it a shot again. I'm traveling this weekend, but still managing to get some words down. So far, I really like the story.

It was easier to wait for 2013 to show up.
