Building has central heating. However, I've got the valves closed because the temperature rise in the afternoon gives me headaches.

My computer generates more than enough heat as it is.

I have central heating and no control over it. Used heat in my hotel rooms.

We had our first day of actual non-warm weather of the year yesterday.  Still did not get cold enough inside the house to turn the heat on.  Maybe another month.

I've turned the heat on twice, much to Max's dismay. I'm sorry, but when the temp gets below 55F/12C, it's time to turn the silly thing on. I can add a sweater, slippers, and even a blanket, but I'm not sitting in my house with gloves on. 

That being said, I agree with him in that I hate the heat on at night. The air should be crisp and cold while you sleep.

Like when the first cold snap hits here.  The new students from the subcontinent of the US South often look like polar explorers in their jackets...then the REAL cold hits in December...

Yes.  I've had to do it for the wife & kids.  If it were me I'd let the inside temperature get down to 60 before I'd turn on the heat, but whatevs-- let the super-duper efficient heat pump do its thing.  Actually puts out good heat.  Much better than the one we had when I was a kid.

A few days we had to do the Cal thing of AC in the day and heat at night.  Drove me crazy but I couldn't open windows to even things out due to fear of awakening my 4 year old's allergies.

Supposed to get down to 35 tonight so that's a good excuse for using the fireplace.  I'm guessing I have enough firewood for the end of the year.
