Have temperatures dipped enough round your way to crank up the heating or light a fire yet?

Daytime high of 9C today.  I turned on the heat a couple of weeks ago (which was more challenging than I thought, since the pilot light had gone out).

I wish I had the $ for better insulation,

I just got out my chisel and forced my window closed.. I really should invest in new windows.

I kind of wish they would turn the heating on already. A bit chilly at home.

I think this thread is a good example of the Languish evolution. When I first became active here, 2004ish, there were "Who's Hotter?" polls and those Friday Night Fights.

Now we're at, "I think it's getting a bit nippy . . . should I turn on the heat yet?" :hmm:

I have a top floor flat that's warm and well-insulated so I can't see the boiler going on until the end of October at the earliest, despite having had a few frosty mornings.
About every evening since the last 2 weeks, I had the heating on.  Before that, about once every 2-3 nights for the previous 2 weeks.
